    Hello everyone!

I went to a wedding last night. I wore Coco parfum and received so many compliments! I don't know if it's location or trend, but very few people I'm around seem to wear fragrance anymore. I detected it on one other person (apart from my fiancé, who was completely delicious in A Taste of Heaven) in a crowd of about 150; a gentlemen in his 70s, and he was wearing Aramis. Of course I mentioned how wonderful he smelled which made him absolutely beam and ask me to dance! Anyway, my Coco was still lingering so beautifully this morning I decided to stick with it and refresh with a bit of vintage edp. Good decision.

    Y'all have a fabulous day!

Sharing the house with Jon Rodgers in Serge Lutens, Boxeuses for me. What a beauty! Nice and multilayered but standout notes are an ultra, ultra smooth glove leather with a rich dried plum and a curl of smoke. It smells like Chanel Cuir de Russie and Rochas Femme met up in a smoky bar. NB: Good dabbed, better sprayed.

    Have a lovely Sunday, all!

It is Christmas. It is dark and cold outside, and the day has been long. Inside, the fire flickers and the lamplit room is like a cocoon. I am curled up in a cosy chair. I have a glass of red wine beside me as I reach out to the box of dark chocolate liquers.

An update to my post regarding Noir De Noir:

Almost two hours after application, the chocolate liquer effect has gone, What is left is much nicer and allows a hint of oud wood to come through.

    I'll try this again tomorrow.

SotE - Perfumer's Workshop Tea Rose, for old times' sake. It's very big and floral, but simple. When I was young my bedroom reeked of this...it really lingers after you spray it. It seems a little boring and one dimensional now, but I still like it. It's great for layering, but I don't suppose I'd choose this for myself now. It's just a nostalgia item.

I was out and about (on "the lake" bobbing about on a pontoon boat, fishing or pretending to fish as they weren't biting) today as a last-minute invite from my sister took me away from the garden for a few hours. I was in the mood for Montale Black Aoud and it worked nicely in the slightly cloudy, windy fall weather, with a slight nip to the wind. At the last minute before I left for the lake, I got cheeky and layered a little Bulgari Black over it, which made a lovely leather note rise over the woody, musky, rosy Oudy BA.
