I think two is the most for me in one transaction of different scents, however I did order three bottles of Theo Fennel Scent (that just arrived yesterday!) because the price was too good (thanks for the heads up CoL!).
Thread: Biggest Haul? |
What's the most fragrances you've ever purchased at once? Whether online or off. I think my max was 6 or 8 for my birthday one year.

I'm a colognosaurus. Rawr!
Probably 4. I ordered 3 i Profumi di Firenze and 1 Essenze di Mezzanotte a few months back at the same time, so the postage from Italy was reasonable. My most expensive order placed would have been for Nio, Mefisto and Fiore d'Ulivo from Xerjoff.
I've simultaneously purchased between 10 and 20 a number of times. I don't remember the most I've bought at one time, probably close to 20 or maybe a few more. These were older frags I got at pretty low prices.
Last December Haul video, one of my biggest

The entire Chanel Exclusif line at once at $200/bottle.

Givenchy Insense, Venezia Uomo, Lalique PH, Burberry London, Eau Sauvage, M7, Kenzo Power
Sniffapalooza, I came home from NYC with 6 bottles
Although other than that I never really haul
I am not afraid... I was born to do this.

I think two is my max.
The biggest haul was when I came across a guy liquidating his cologne collection and he wasn't really about squeezing every last dollar. He wanted to clear his place to move so he was in dump mode of just about everything. I only wanted cologne, not furnishings and what not. I scored 8 nearly full bottles for about $200. Yes an amazing $20ish a bottle. I probably could have gotten 3-4 more if I really wanted to but I only had about $200 in cash to spend. When I got back to him the next week the others I would have added were gone and I didn't tell him to hold them, which he might have. All designer, no niche and probably the most expensive bottle originally when bought new was the Gendarme EDP 200ml which was the most used by him and still had 90% left.
I dont care for the expression "haul" it gives the impression of quantity over quality hoarding as opposed to appreciating what you have .... either way Ive only ever brought 2 maybe 3 bottles at the same time
I don't mean to be rude, but don't you think that's a bit contradicting when you have 57 bottles in your collection? Wouldn't that be hoarding?
I think that in order to have that "appreciation" for a fragrance you need to buy or try plenty. To find the ones that will ultimately be a part of your collection indefinitely.
I take the 5th Amendment on the grounds that it may incriminate me...

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, and sorry I could not travel both and be one traveler, long I stood and looked down one as far as I could to where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other, as just as fair, ...... I shall be telling this with a sigh somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I -- I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference. - Robert Frost
This is a thread you may not want your significant other to ever read...

Never more than 3-4 bottles in a row
The most I've done is two. This week I bought Cartier Declaration Cologne and L'Artisan Havana Vanille. It felt really exciting to splurge like that. I usually do maybe one a pay period, but I just couldn't resist!
5 at one time online (got me free shipping)
8 on my trip to new york
But once you get locked into a serious perfume collection, the tendency is to push it as far as you can.
In one transaction, probably three for myself, four total. In one visit abroad, seven. (Berlin 2009: I had already reached my intended limit, then I chanced upon The Different Scent.)
