Bel Ami by Hermès
I believe my fragrance will be Massive Patchouli, which is surprisingly light and golden, given the name. I received a compliment on it the other day and yet another interview looms Monday, so I want to impress, not fumigate.

ointments and perfume delight the heart....
Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. That's why I can not wear a perfume that bothers me. Perfuming is an instinctive wisdom. And like all art, it requires some knowledge of yourself..."

Hermès Calèche Fleurs de Méditerranée (2003) Jean-Claude Ellena Floral
•Notes: Moroccan Mimosa, Turkish Rose, Egyptian Jasmine, Beeswax Absolute, Heliotrope
A limited edition, this is a beautiful composition based on mimosa, rose, and jasmine with beeswax absolute and heliotrope. The mimosa's floral note is slightly green, lending a bit of freshness to this rather rich fragrance; the beeswax gives depth and a gently animalic touch, while the heliotrope contributes the gourmand redolence of almonds and cherry pie. It is definitely an opus of elegance and style, deep and reassuring. Ellena's genius for making a great deal of a minimal set of ingredients is amply evident here.
