Default Emporio Armani He/ Lui / Il

I have done a search here and the only fragrances said to be somewhat similar to Emporio Armani are 212 men (without the florals) and Dior Fahrenheit.
Do you agree? Are there others that share that mossy green scent?

Perceptions of what constitutes a mossy green scent varies. Check out Hugo Dark Blue, Paul Smith Men. Paul Smith Men Extreme, Burberry Weekend and Kiton Men which arguably have similarities. Some put Grey Flannel into this category, but I don't see it.

Seems like a major perceptual issue here or a mistake. I have EAH (all black tube bottle), and wouuld compare it to the women's version or something like Dream Angels Heavenly, but certainly not Fahrenheit or Grey Flannel. What's going on?

The notes on fragrantica are: "Top notes are and bergamot; middle notes are vetiver, yuzu, sage and cardamom; base notes are cedar, tonka bean and musk. "

yesterday a friend was using this fragrance
Before i asked him what it was
    i was trying to guess
i really thought it was declaration
smelled citric lemony, earthy and spicy
im reading the noteBreakdown now and i think is the comBination of Bergamot and cardamom the reason why i thought it was cartier - declaration

Always felt that Emporio Armani He/ Lui was a very nice scent and easy to wear.

I have always felt this way also.....Mania Pour Homme has always reminded me a little of Emporio.....I must say I like Emporio more than Mania!!!

Like many Armani's I find this well blended yet a bit weak and middle of the road. It's my go to when I don't feel like wearing anything particular or want something guaranteed to be inoffensive.
Like Code and AdG I'm happy to have it but it won't be replaced once it's gone.

Emporio Armani He, by my experience is good cold weather scent, I find it much more interesting than Armani Code.

This post certainly strikes a chord with me. It's been nearly a decade since I owned & used He, but my memory is of a citrusy, zesty fragrance. Unless I'm confusing it with something else, I see no comparison with Fahrenheit whatsoever. I'd compare it to something like Azure Lime?

Banana Republic's Cordovan is an inferior but almost direct clone of Emporio...

Wanted to resurrect an old thread because I just picked up a tester bottle of this on the cheap from Ebay. This is a really a great versatile fresh, woodsy scent that projects well and has good longevity. Armani fragrances are always well-blended IMO and this one is no exception. It's been out for quite awhile but still feels contemporary to me but doesn't get discussed much. It's like a slightly fresher and woodsier version of Mania (pointed out by G.303). There are comments about it in this thread from some of the prominent regulars (Renato, G.303, hednic, Bigsly), it would be great to hear some updated opinions and feedback on this awesome fragrance!

I used to LOVE Emporio. I went through two bottle since launch, and then when I bought my last bottle in 2012, I believe it to be reformulated. It didn't have the decent longevity it had before and seemed utterly one dimensional.

I can't think of anything else that smells like it either.

Interesting, mine is a recent formulation from April of '13 according to checkcosmetic. Smells really nice to my nose but I would be interested to smell the original formula. Regardless, longevity and projection seem good, I can still smell it on myself 4+ hours in without having to sniff my wrist but just from simply moving around. Thanks for the feedback!

Resurrecting this thread - does anyone know anything more about whether EAH has been reformulated? This has been one of my two regular fragrances ever since it launched. For a variety of reasons though (mainly money related), I went a year or so without having any. I recently bought a new bottle and, after wearing it for a couple of days in a row I've developed a rash on my throat and wrists, where I generally spray EDT after shaving. It's possible that this is a coincidence, more likely I'm now allergic to one of my favourite fragrances, which is obviously disappointing. That being so, either I've developed an allergy to one of the ingredients or they're using something in it now that they never used to.

So, no-one knows anything about the possible re-formulation. That means there'll be a certain amount of trial and error while I work out exactly what it is in EAH that I'm reacting to.

In the meantime, can anyone recommend something similar for me to try?
