Thread: Looking for an incense perfume?
Help me find a nice womens perfume witha incense note in it. Maybe amber too. Not to sweet or floral. Its a gift for my sister who always comments on my Bois d’Armanie and my mpg ambre precieux.
Bois d’Armanie and MPG Ambre Precieux

How about Donna Karan Black Cashmere
From Bond No.9
1. Silver Factory
2. Saks Fifth Avenue Pour Homme
There is also series #3 from Comme des Garcons.....The Incense series.....These are fantastic.....My favorite is Kyoto!!!
Messe de Minuit by Etro

I would try Avignon by Commes des Garcons.
Keiko Mecheri Oliban
Eau d'Iparie by L'Occitane or L'Air du Desert Marocain by Andy Tauer. These are both marketed as unisex, rather than women's fragrances. They tick the 'not too sweet or floral' box. Happy hunting!
Chaos by Donna Karan or Black Cashmere
Commes des Garcons Incense series. There are four to chose from. I love the Quarzazate
L'Artisan Parfumeur Passage d'Enfer this does have lilies and musk but really is an incense fragrance.
Caron Parfum Sacre
Another vote for Parfum Sacre. An incense oriental with spice and vanilla.
I also like L'Occitane's Eau des Baux, which is sold as a masculine: slightly sweet incense with vanilla and cypress.
"No elegance is possible without it...perfume is a part of you." Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel
Beside LdDM also try Incense Extreme from Andy Tauer or Eau D'Epice
While it is not a women's perfume, I think it's worth taking a look at Piper Nigrum. It's probably my favorite incense, and I love incense.
There is a singular joy in the experience of receiving perfume by mail. It is one of life's great little pleasures - one that more should have the pleasure of knowing.
Other than those mentioned, I enjoy L'Artisan's Timbuktu and Christian Lacroix's Tumulte Pour Homme. The CL's a masculine scent but is so stunning on me, I really don't care who it's marketed to. I love it.
RHM's Vintage, Rare & Pretty Darn Good items on offer: http://www.basenotes.net/threads/380...old-Pour-Femme
I'd say that if she likes what you're wearing and compliments it, maybe one of those? Scents are pretty unisex now -- but, if you want a pure incense fragrance, Diptyque's Tam Dao is a good one.

Musings and random thoughts about the genie in the bottle
Kenzo Amour le Parfum (the gold bottle) - incensey-vanilla-rice pudding!
+1 for Tam Dao - really beautiful dry woodsy scent
Bvlgari Black - more rubbery than incensey, but to me its kind of smokey-vanilla
I love incense, don't care for sweet, and own Bois d'Armenie, YSL Nu, Black Cashmere, and Chaos. Bois d'Armenie is a skin scent on me and Amber Precieux has a rounded softness too, so perhaps your friend would like something in that direction. Chaos is lovely in this way, but has no vanilla or amber. Black Cashmere is similar to Chaos, but much more robust and spicy. A very favorite of mine, actually; I have a back up of the original bottle. Nu edp is a very dry and peppery incense, not at all creamy and definitely no sweet. "Strong enough for a man, but made for a woman" comes to mind. I've heard that Nu edt is quite different from the edp, but I've never tried it. I also own Eau des Baux and was surprised to see it mentioned, but it's really a great suggestion. Some men don't care for it because they find the vanilla too strong, and I usually don't care for vanilla except in men's fragrances, so this one is a winner for me. And yes, yes, yes for Parfum Sacre! I have a sample and no idea why I haven't ponied up for a full bottle. It's so serene and uplifting, almost spiritual. Tam Dao is a beautiful sandalwood and cedar scent, but I get no incense (or much else, for that matter).
I looked thru my wardrobe and reviews, and can't really think of anything to add to the list. Of everything mentioned, my top vote would go to Parfum Sacre. It's truly exquisite.
Eddie: Sweetie, what are you drinking?
Patsy: Oh, this? Chanel No. 5.
-- Absolutely Fabulous
My suggestion will be Hanae Mori 's Magical Moon...creamy,sweet vanilla with a hint of insence .
Nu YSL is also creamy ,floral incense-y one...so as a spicy intense incense you could try LouLou Cacharel or Black Cashmere by Donna KARAN.

Comme des Garcons Series 3 Incense Avignon
Opium Yves Saint Laurent
LouLou Cacharel for women
Alamut Lorenzo Villoresi
Rochas Tocade, not exactly incense but a kind of burnt vanilla. My favourite!
Lorenzo Villoresi - Incensi
Creed - Angelique Encens (discontinued)
Le Labo - Vanille 44 (more incense than vanilla)
And I'm on a quest to find my HG incense too... waiting, yet, to try Profumum Olibanum and CdG Incense series more thoroughly.
Creed - Angelique Encens
Ava Luxe - No. 23 (but I think there is more like Nag Champa, Incense Tibet and Incense)
Caron - Parfum Sacre (but is Carnationy Rose too)
Karl Lagerfeld - Woody (I know there is strong Sandalwood note but I think it is quite incensey)
“If I had to live my life again, I'd make the same mistakes, only sooner.” Tallulah Bankhead - Actress
Also you can try L'Heure Mysterieuse XII from Cartier ( dry , real incense scent with some jasmine inside without being floral)
