Really? That's very interesting that you find Coromandel sweet, actiasluna - I'm not sure I've ever heard it described that way. I find it smoky, soft and mellow, woody and quite dry....but many fragrances that others describe as sweet (even cloyingly so) I find to be soft and mellow on my skin (L'Instant and Loukhoum, for instance.) Do you think it's the benzoin that's too sweet for you?
Science is not only compatible with spirituality, it is a profound source of spirituality. When we recognize our place in an immensity of light-years and in the passage of ages, when we grasp the intricacy, beauty, and subtlety of life, then that soaring feeling, that sense of elation and humility combined, is surely spiritual. ..Carl Sagan
E... yes, the benzoin. Benzoin-heavy scents often go "too sweet" on my skin. Anything with a "vanilla" (and sometimes vanilla/sandalwood, as I've found that combo is quite popular) goes sweet unless the benzoin is quite faint.
I'm wearing Bond Chinatown today.
Sending happy birthday wishes to kiliwia
A somewhat belated -- but sincere -- Happy Birthday to Kiliwia!!
I've been fighting off an upper respiratory infection as of late, so I haven't felt much like delving into my perfumes, but I did splash on some PdN Maharanih this morning and I've so enjoyed its (to me) boozy warmth. Take care, all.
Thanks again for helping make my birthday such a great day,
you guys are the best!!!
Have a Chanel-a-palooza day going with the SoTE being Platinum Egoiste layered with Sycomore... nice transition from the Coromandel and the layering "bitters up" the sweet benzoin persistent drydown of Coromandel from earlier, while giving more smoke and depth to the dry, clean PE.
Layering is such fun!
Late to the party...Happy Birthday Kiliwia!!!
I wore Chanel BEIGE today...I'm smitten, so wearing this day after day. Tonight I'll wear CdR.

Still a little bit left of Monday on this side of the date line...
I'll add my happy birthday wishes to Kiliwia! I hope you had a great day!
SOTD was Caron Infini (a beauty!)...and tonight, I'm wearing 31 Rue Cambon from a sample (although I think I will save up and buy myself a big bottle). Hope you all have (had?) sweet dreams!
