    Default Guess the Compliment Getter

1 Spray on my wrist from a tester at Neiman Marcus

10 minutes later I walked into Starbucks. Girls behind the counter:

"OMG, my knees just got weak. What on earth is that incredible smell?"

I was a good 8 feet away from them when they noticed. I couldn't really smell it on myself.

Guess the frag. I'll reply as soon as someone guesses correctly.

Those 2 you can smell on yourself. Aventus goes into stealth mode quickly to the wearer's nose.

Try it on your skin before. Walk in there and give yourself a few sprays, then walk around.
I don't know, but from your list it seems like it would be a welcome addition to your collection.
Now it doesn't come cheap though. After taxes it ran me $305 for the 4oz.

I've worn it a couple times and didn't receive any compliments. I figure it may have a higher chance of provoking them than other fragrances, but certainly don't expect them.

I applied 4 sprays of Aventus today before work. I got complimented on it 2 hrs later at work even though I could barely smell it on myself. I'm not happy about it though as I WANT TO SMELL IT!!!!

"Secret Agent" isn't quite the term...I prefer "Agent Provocateur"

I've gotten more compliments from a $30 bottle of Rive Gauche. I like Aventus quite a bit, but I don't love it. It's an expensive hide and seek experience in which the wearer only gets fleeting glimpses of the smell. Aventus is like dating a very hot but flaky girl. You never know if she's going to cancel dinner because a better offer came up. A very frustrating scent. Everybody perceives it differently. Rive is a different story. What a fragrance.

Word. The girl who complimented me wanted to know what I was wearing, to which I replied "a ridiculously expensive fragrance called Aventus", to which she replied "I know what you mean. I've spent like $60 before for perfume". Unfortunately those black uniforms and baseball caps just don't do it for me.

I've gotten compliments on adventus eight plus hours after application, even though the scent completely was undetectable to my nose. Adventus does have awesome staying power on my skin.

Aventus would have been my first guess. Why? Because, motivated by the legendary "what gets the most female compliments" thread, I dug out my sample and popped some on. Wow. Why did I squirrel this one away?

It's an interesting fragrance, because I've noticed that a lot of what women like tend to be a) on the sweet side, and b) not what men like. I think Aventus bridges that gap.

Put some on my jumper, just for good measure, and it's still there two days later..
    Measure twice. Cut once.

Five that I am enjoying right now

Excuse you sir, but all ingredients are 150% natural. I bet Mr. Creed is on the beaches right now scouting for the barfiest of whale barf.

I think the process may be similar to:

    Step 1: Feed Whales
Step 2: Wait a few years
Step 3: Make them smell Secretions Magnifiques
    Step 4: Profit!?????

    Two things:

    1. Yes Aventus smells great. It is one of my favorite Creeds, but I wouldn't exactly call it sexy. It's like the cute puppy of fragrance. Well, a very expensive, pure bred puppy.

    2. Lest anyone think this is a "one spray" fragrance, remember Creed sprayers are the perfume world equivalent to those pump tank things gardeners use to spray fertilizer or insecticide.

    Normal sprayer sound: *sprit*
    Creed sprayer sound: *pssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhtttttttt*

The one I got the compliment on that time - I don't know. I just went into Neiman Marcus and applied 1 spray to my hand. I walked around the block for 10 minutes (man, Beverly Hills neighborhoods are so pristine and idyllic) and then to Starbucks. Couldn't smell it on me by the time I got there.

Another theory I'm considering regarding the batches - perhaps some of us are anosmic to one or more of the ingredients in the mixture. For the life of me I can't smell Le Lebo Musc 25.

Not crazy at all....if there were an ROI tracker regarding a cologne's price and the number of female compliments it receives, I'm pretty sure it would rank among the highest.
