Default Japanese Wash Cloth for Showering - Nice

This thing is terrific. It's a long, coarse nylon/polyester wash cloth that exfoliates all the hard to reach places. You get the fabric wet and put a tiny dab of body wash in the middle of the cloth. Your skin just shines when you get out of the shower and it feels really great. You're clean. Just have some moisturizer available because the cloth buffs off your body oil.

Found one at my local Dollar store, but they're available at any Japanese grocery.

Omg! I LOVE those things!! I've been using them for a year or two, I make sure to always order a bunch of them even though they last a really long time. Don't try to cut it in half even though they are very long (unless you sew that end) ask me how I know...

Where do you find them for a dollar?? Sweet deal.

Right on! I love the thing. I can't wait to get into the shower to use it. It's such a great "I'm Alive!!!!" feeling. I'm going to get some menthol-mint body wash and catch a natural buzz. Dear readers, it sounds ridiculous fawning over such a simple thing, but until you've tried it you don't know.

In southern Cali we have an ubiquitous business called the 99Cents Only Store. Found them by accident

Adonis, these are been around for decades. A great exfoliating towel!

It's the modern, more hygienic version of the luffa gourd scrubber for the skin.

Target has an "Exfoliating Bath Cloth" that's the functional equivalent of the Japanese wash cloths for $2.25. Right in the loofa section.

@Primrose, I've never tried a luffa gourd scrubber but if they make you feel good, I'm all ears.

You'll dig it. Really makes your soap/body wash lather up.

Those Japanese wash cloths are amazingly durable--I have one that I have used regularly for years (almost a decade), and it is just starting to fall apart--

This sounds great, and I found a place that ships worldwide.
Seems like some people who ordered through Amazon got a cheap Chinese knock off, so you need to shop carefully to find the right product.

Do yourself a favor and get one. The scratchy feeling is just plain awesome. If you have a 99Cents Only Store in your area you'll find one there. It's also the ideal bad sample fragrance scrubber-offer.

I got my cloth a few weeks ago and just wanted to join the chorus; it is a really nice product. I use much less soap, since the cloth makes a small amount foam nicely. That's good news for my precious Acqua di Parma shower gels!

BTW, there are many varieties of size and coarseness of these wash cloths. If you get a coarser one to begin with, you'll possibly have to build up to it. Pressing too hard the first few times might be overly rough for an unaccustomed dermis. At this point, I can't wait to get into the shower to use it - the combination of scrubbing and massive amounts of lather results in a very "I'm alive!" sort of feeling. And hey, they're $3.

My sister was living in Tokyo some years ago and gifted me one. It was fantastic and lasted for a very long time. It knocked loofa out off the park. Have you received yours? I wonder if the new ones are made in Japan or China.

I've received the shipments. They're all made in Japan.

You're right, after using these, I cannot go back to anything else. They are extraordinary, and my skin feels supple and fresh afterwards.

    I've ordered from two places:

I've placed small orders from Joie at Saluxshop and placed larger orders from UniKingHI. Although the former is based in CA and the latter is in HI, I believe they are affiliated.

They do last a very long time. I use them as "extras" in swap packages and insist friends and relatives try them - I didn't order them all for my personal use.
