    Default Your current favorite

If you are like me, fragrances fall into and out of favor regularly. I can think of only a couple that I've loved consistently over the years. I tend to find new fragrances that become an obsession for a while.

My current favorite is Floris 89; I just love the heart and base of this fragrance.

    What's your current favorite?

After having sampled 1990´s Vent Vert (Balmain) and old Jolie Madame I went ahead and ordered full bottles of original formulation of those two beauties. I hesitated whether or not to include a bottle of Miss Balmain too but Finally did.

And I must say Miss Balmain is the winner of these three, and I am very glad I blind bought it. Refined flowers over leather, very unisex if not masculine.

Etat Libre d'Orange - Rien (sexy leather, SOOOO GOOOD!)
Maison Francis Kurkdjian - Cologne Pour le Soir (soft, warm rose, gorgeous)
Maison Francis Kurkdjian - Lumiere Noire pour Homme (I cant really describe this one, it just smells really good !)

It's currently Dior Homme Intense. This thread title is much more approriate for me than "What's your #1 fragrance?". I'll have a frag that I think I can't live without with, wear it continuously for two weeks, but end up getting sick of it. More recently, that's what happened to me with Bond Riverside Drive and Domenico Caraceni 1913.

With you on Xerjoff Nio Craig. Also hugely impressed by MFK Absolue pour le Soir and VC&A Midnight in Paris.

This! but it is very, very bad regarding the longevity therefore I don't own a bottle of it. Piece of art that I admire and love but that is useless if the longevity is poor.

Why, Fahrenheit, of course. However I've tried the more recent formulation (my current bottle was purchased in 2005) and wasn't as satisfied. It smells about the same, but more emphasis on the violet note, less on the honeysuckle, and just weaker overall. Still nice, but not extraordinary.

So.. my current favorite that's in current formulation would probably be.. Green Irish Tweed. Ya, I said it

fahrenheit too.. but ironically my testing recollection of the reformulated version was that there was less (or none) violet blast in the opening and a softer version of the gasoline leather drydown.. quite agreeing with luca turin's description.. not sure if we were trying the same release series though.. but so far ive had the same recollection with those that were repackaged i think since they released the fahrenheit 32 when they came out with a more 'streamlined' bottle and cap for both the 32 and the original fahrenheit

    still love it though..

Hm.. this is a toughie. I guess I'll go with Costume National 21. It's the first incense fragrance I've ever tried, there's tons of stuff going on, and I haven't smelled anything like it yet. So it'll be awhile before I tire of it.

Currently I have three late summer into autumn favourites:

    Amouage Memoir Man.

I wore it for two weeks straight when it was released mid September and keep coming back to it - especially on cooler overcast days like today. It's a fascinating brooding scent.

    Histoires de Parfums 1725.

Really attractive laid back fougere meets luxury barber shop lotion vibe with a slightly powdery twist - I agree with jenson's comment that this is a cult classic in the making.

    Diptyque Eau Lente

Possibly the most relaxing comfort scent I have ever come across - if it wasn't for a few mentions here and there by Off Scenter and a great review by foetidius I would probably never have found this one. I'm really glad I did - unique and timeless.
