    I can't seem to replicate. I had an unread message and two friend requests, and once I'd looked at them, the notification went.

    Is anyone else having a similar problem?

    I had the problem earlier, it said I had a new message but I'd already read the last message. About 10 minutes later there was a new message and then the notification box disappeared.

    It may help to say it was "1 Unapproved Visitor Messages", the first of that particular kind I have ever received and the only one that doesn't clear when read. I subsequently had a PM that cleared immediately after reading, but the problem Visitor Message still is with me on the Visitor Messages page and the notice that I have a message (in purple-scarlet) has not cleared either.
