Default TODAY I BOUGHT: November 2010

Finally it has arrived! This fragrance is amazing! I never got the chance to sample this, so it's my first time to smell it. It was a blind buy. Thank you to all basenoters for the help.

I have only smelled Nuit de Noho, Wallstreet, Riverside, Bond no 9 Signature perfume, Union Square, Scent of peace and this. Of these 7 scents, Silver Factory and Nuit de Noho are full bottle worthy. Wallstreet smells of cucumber and aquatic notes. Bond no 9 Signature perfume is supposed to be Oud based frag, but I don't smell oud at all and it smells a bit generic, IMO. Union square is very feminine. Scent of peace is, again a generic frag, grapefruit and very linear, boring.

I am curious about West side and Chinatown.

    Acqua Di Gio

Never thought about actually buying this thing, but it was on clearance at the local Target. $28 for 1.7 oz. Seeing how that same bottle size hovers around $50 everywhere else, minus well have it in the collection.

Scored it off ebay NIB 100ml for really good price, in fact checking again on there I might have scored it at the best price available as I don't see any others listed that low.

Wore it and loved the first 4 hours..... then the Le Male powdery nauseous pops up and I want to scrub it off. It opened reminding me of a cross between Le Male, minus the powder and The Dreamer, minus the nasal assault of it's opening. Then as I said for about 4 hours or so it was quite yummy. Somewhere along the way the powdery similarity to Le Male shows up and I'm less in love with it. Why did that have to happen. It's the reason I don't like Le Male and it may be the reason I won't like this. I'll give it another wearing and hopefully I can learn to appreciate it. As the first 4 hoursish were very good.

I scored M7 last week so I guess it should be in Oct edition but alas here it is.

First wearing I over applied and got overwhelmed by the medicinal note, agar wood? Second time I wore it I toned down the application to two sprays and it was much better. Really liked it and barely noticed that medicinal quality. It actually appears as a light tickle to the nose when applied right. This frag is reminiscent of Tom Ford Extreme but not all that close, just hints of it.

Hi Mr. R! Nice one! Would be a great addition to anybody's wardrobe. Just a fascinating fragrance. Very incensy. To me, it gives me the "churchy" vibe.

volley2 - FYI (and any of my HK / SHG basenotes brethren) from end of December the three Shiseido counters carrying Lutens will let the line run down and, according to the very friendly SA at PP, just keep stocking half a dozen of the florals which actually get a bit of traction here. If you were planning on picking up Arabie, AS, Chergui and the other less tai tai friendly ones it might be time to think about it I guess I'll be grabbing Serge Noire earlier than planned now. Catchya next week.

A blind buy - some may say a risky Creed to do this with.

Arrived today. It's unlike anything I have in my meagre collection, and I like it a lot. Only been on my elbow (all good pulse points still have remnants of the SoTD) for 5 minutes so looking forward to seeing how it develops.

Oh lordy, it's been a long time that I've wanted a bottle of this and I finally got my hands on a used bottle from the Sale boards here. And looky there, the $ just flew out of my wallet as soon as I saw it was available. Thanks to G for the bottle and to N for the heads up.
