    Default New scent advice

    Hello,

I have a question regarding getting a new scent. My wife just bought me Versace Men eau Fraiche for a present and I like it as a nice fresh scent but looking for something else. I guess I am looking for something that is not too citrusy - something more masculine but that isn't overpowering. It would be an everyday scent that I could wear to the office that doesn't scream cologne to everyone that passes. I have read a few posts and I want to try out Chanel Pour Homme and Guerlain Pour Homme. Any other ideas?

I also own Terre de Hermes and Creed GIT and I like both. The former I like for going out with my wife (she loves it), and the latter I prefer to wear very rarely as I treat at as something unique.

Thanks in advance for the help!

Hugh Parsons Blue might provide what you are looking for. The citrus opening mellows out nicely into an understated spicy/woody/herbal drydown with balanced sillage that works perfectly in an office environment.

Welcome to Basenotes by the way. Good to have you on board.

Acqua di Gio of course, and l'eau d'issey (floral fresh, very good compliment factor, as it is very inoffensive)

    Some that might work:

    YSL L'Homme
    Canali Men
    Tommy est. 1985
    Calvin Klein Man (really nice)

One that I just tried for the first time that seems to fit the bill is Romeo Gigli Uomo. If you like the "80s power frags" but want one that is very subtle and won't offend, this is one to try.

Well, went out sniffing. Tried a few including Allure, Prada, Tom Ford Extreme, Bulgari Man, Blue de Chanel, and Mugler. Something about the clean scent of Mugler kept me coming back so that's what I went with. I really liked Allure, despised TF Extreme, and liked many others.

So far so good. Not sure I think it's a unisex scent as I cant imagine liking it on a woman.

    Thanks!

Mugler Cologne is very office-appropriate scent, as mentioned by many others previously. Probably can't go wrong with it
