Default The Fragrances of Sonoma Scent Studio

    Greetings Everyone!

Is anyone familiar with this House of niche fragrances? My favorite tobacco fragrance comes from this House, Tabac Aurea. What are your favorites?

I love this house! Tabac Aurea and Winter Woods are my favourites, but I really like Vintage Rose, Ambre Noir, Wood Violet, Champagne de Bois and Femme Jolie, too. I can't wait to get my hands on a FB of Vintage Rose (unfortunately, the shopping cart on the SSS site has been closed for months). I hope Laurie gets well soon!

I found Tobac Aurea ok; I generally don't care too much for tobaco scents and found Tobac Aurea at least not as strong as some.

Fireside Intense is the most appropriately-named scent I've tried. It smells like a bonfire and it smells like you are right downwind from it and it is intense. I could never see wearing it. I spritzed one spray from the sample onto a card and was blown back instantly... before even bringing the card to my nose. I would be afraid to wear it for fear of setting off any smoke alarms I might walk near. It is that strong.

Winter Woods would be very nice were it not for that exact same bonfire smoke note. This note, by the wayx in not smokey in the sort of scotch way or in the sort of gourmand way, this is not the proverbial "smoke of a distant fire," but very harsh like a bonfire right there. It's not as strong in Winter Woods, but really is sharp and harsh.

Amber Noir is, to me, "noisey." There's just a lot going on and it didn't seem well put together to me. It reminds me of an orchestra tuning up before the concert; all of the beautiful music is there, it's just not all together yet. Also, don't expect a strong amber from it.

Champagne de Bois is nice... but not nice enough, in my opinion, for the price they ask for it. I think there are plenty of better ways to spend that money.

Incense Pure wins for the least-correctly named scent (not really) but is sure isn't a pure incense scent. My conclusion on this one was much the same, nice... but not, IMHO, nice enough for the asking price.
