Exclamation Timbuktu Is On The Itinerary.

No, I am not traveling to Timbuktu, as wonderfull a thought as that might be, but rather speaking of L'Artisan's Tibuktu. When I first read the notes I did not think much of this fragrance and then a dear friend sent me a sample. I embraced this fragrance with the very first sniff as being way more than the sum of it's parts. The incense and combined other notes created in my mind the need, no, the passion to posses it, so I ordered a full bottle today. Since I seldom find fragrances that delight me so, I decided to share this with you. If one has not tried this fragrance it should certainly be on your list of samples to try. I fear I have fallen under the spell of dark and exotic fragrances like Ambre Sultan, Arabie, Aomassai and, of course, Timbuktu. These fragrances are like visiting the mysteries of the orient and middle east. well, please excuse me. I am off to the casbah to by some medjool dates and a magic carpet.

Enjoy the trip! Timbuktu is amazing, isn't it? I think it will always rank among my top favorites!

I always wanted to love this fragrance but I feel like I am missing something substantial in it. It's not deep, dark, or particularly exciting to my nose, but instead fruity, soft, and sort of dry. Like eating a mango in the desert, with just a hint of incense being carried on the wind.

Anyhow, I am always excited to see someone find something that they love. Enjoy, N_Tesla!

I concur, N-Tesla! Timbuktu is probably the most dignified woody perfume I've ever encountered. I smell primarily cedar, but under that it manages to layer both smoky wood and sapling wood at the same time. All I smell is woody notes, and there's nothing missing.

I agree wholeheartedly...a fantastic and intriguing fragrance. Medjool dates indeed! I dare say this could be a great Thanksgiving dinner fragrance choice

I do love this one, too. Thanks for reminding me to wear it more often, Nick!
