    Default "Thanks" feature

I am a member of some other forums that have a feature where you can "thank" individual members for their helpful posts. It is publicly shown who sent them the "thanks", how many "thanks" you have received, & how many "thanks" you have given. When you view someone's profile, there is an option to view posts made by that person that other people have thanked.

Here's an example of what it looks like: http://androidforums.com/lounge/2341...es-yes-no.html

Is there any way of implementing that here? I find myself wanting to "thank" peoples posts out of habit . I think it would be very beneficial in this kind of community.

Do you know, I've always wondered if I should add this or not. I think it will only take five mins, so I'll have a look now.

Hmmm just had a look, and it looks like this plug in is no longer supported by the author that wrote it, so I might wait a bit and see if it gets picked up again.

Is this like a "rep points" system?

PS - also, I mentioned this one elsewhere but I was thinking of this idea like amazon has where you can click thumbs up or down of "was this review helpful". that way instead of me going through every 19345u23495 of the review for GIT, I can just read the 2-3 really good ones as voted by you, the public.

Most of the time I am very proud of the Basenotes community. Time after time I have witnessed the thoughtfulness, empathy & genuine friendship that members of this community extend to others - oldtimers & newcomers alike. There are other times, however, when egos get the upper hand and civility goes out the window. My philosophy is that I won't say anything here that I would not say if you were standing in front of me. Welcome to Basenotes, each and every one of us. ~ TwoRoads
