+1 to Issey, in the same range as AdG but better and less common.

Just for discussion's sake i'll also throw Bvlgari Aqua out there.
Tom Ford Splits!!!! - Tobacco Vanille, Tuscan Leather, Oud Wood, Noir de Noir - PATCHOULI ABSOLU
Plum Japonais, Italian Cypress, Neroli Portofino, Costa Azzura, Azure Lime, Champacca Absolute

HARD TO FIND - Lavender Palm, Arabian Wood, and AMBER ABSOLUTE, etc...

Most of the time I am very proud of the Basenotes community. Time after time I have witnessed the thoughtfulness, empathy & genuine friendship that members of this community extend to others - oldtimers & newcomers alike. There are other times, however, when egos get the upper hand and civility goes out the window. My philosophy is that I won't say anything here that I would not say if you were standing in front of me. Welcome to Basenotes, each and every one of us. ~ TwoRoads

Hope you will enjoy 212 Men. I personally did not enjoy it and it smells like cut grass to me.

I think it would be even more mature smelling compared to Cool Water. Definitely try it first if you can.
    Plus One.

@ OP - DEFINITELY SAMPLE first, with GV. If you're into old-world-smelling, GV is a gem. It is a dull fresh (oxymoron I know..). I finally hopped off the GV bandwagon when I grew out of trying to love it. Give Mugler Cologne a shot, when you're trying the GV, if you haven't already, either. Have fun!!

Both of these are great recommendations. Aqva is one of my favorite fragrances, and is a salty aquatic. It is probably one of the best representations of the ocean I've smelled. Versace Pour Homme I have always described as a mature Acqua di Gio. Some smell a resemblance to Allure Homme Sport, but I get more of a resemblance to AdG (only classier). Both have excellent longevity.

Ok just sprayed it... not so impressed... but from the reviews I was expecting it to start off like that. Hopefully it will develop into something nice :P

I second Issey Miyake L'eau D'issey Pour Homme, last very long for a fresh scent, and is an AMAZING fragrance

Yeah so I haven't been very impressed with 212. I prefer Cool Water; much much better in my opinion. 212 lasts quite long though, I have to give it that.

Hah :P Well it's quite popular so I thought it would be a safe buy; so I guess I learnt something. Anyway, since I paid for it I'll wear it -- I don't HATE it... but I really do think Cool Water is so much better... shame it's longevity sucks on me though otherwise it would be the perfect fragrance for me.

Chanel Allure is a little too expensive for me. Hopefully will be getting L'eau D'issey this week
