Default M7 but without the Medical/ Cough syrup/ Cherry opening?

I adore the M7 drydown, but could really do without having to put it on a couple of hours before getting into a car with other people...

A citrus type opening would be good...

    Any suggestions, anybody?

    TIA

Not with a citrus opening, but oud wood from tom ford is more woody and less sirupy than m7.

Maybe consider its younger sibling M7 Fresh, here are the notes for your viewing pleasure

Top: mandarin orange, Florida grapefruit and bergamot

Middle:ginger, agarwood (oud) and bitter orange

Base notes: tahitian vetiver and musk.

By Kilian's Cruel Intentions has been described by some as similar. It's definitely more citrus up front.

From what I understand is that the new formulation has a toned down medicinal note, some have even said it's been eliminated but that could be just in comparison to the original. You could give that a sniff. I own and have only smelled the vintage so I don't know for sure.

Definitely! Much more pricey than M7 though.

Pierre Cardin Pour Monsieur has a similar drydown as M7, and it has a citrus opening as you requested. I believe it has been called a poor man's M7. It is a very good fragrance.

I love smelling my shirt at the end of a day whenever I wear these 2.

I don't see any citrus notes on Cruel Intentions on my skin. But it has a considerable oud amount on it, and the oud on it really lacks the medicinal aspect of M7.

It just also occured me that the agarwood fragrance in Korres line would be a nice substitute. Also, like Cruel Intentions, it doesn't smell like a similar M7 fragrance, but it's a pleasant agarwood fragrance, and easier to wear than Cruel Intentions or Oud Wood that i mentioned above.

While I don't understand why, but The new M7 formulation and M7 Fresh should do fine. Though M7 is all about those notes you mentioned, if you just want a plain woody dry down, countless fragrances has it, mostly those fresh top sellers with a citrus opening and a woody dry down.
