Not I. I'm in abu Dhabi but weekend in Dubai.
I'll be in Dubai this Friday so I'll give it a sniff. Any idea where it might be? Paris Gallery would be my first bet.
Thanks. I would like to smell it once it does come out, though. The exclusives sound pretty nice.
I'll be in Dubai this weekend as well. Never tried any of the le labo line, hope this one is good.
It will be available at the Le Labo shop at the Paris Gallery. It's due for a release this month. If you're polite and seem genuinely interested, the SA might sneak you a sniff. Looking forward to the reviews, thanks again.
I'm at Dubai mall now. I'll check it out.
Forgot to go yesterday haha. I'm at Dubai mall again now. I'll definitely pass by soon.
Not there till next month.
Whoops fOrgot to go again today. Will definitely go tomorrow.
The SA said it would be in next week. We'll see...
This sounds interesting.
We can already tell you that this scent has been composed by Nathalie Lorson, creator of Another 13 and Poivre 23 (London Exclusive) and its main ingredients are Leather (synthetic base), Woods (Vetyver), animal notes (ambrox) and musks (muscenone).
Vetiver and leather. They must be going after a Tuscan leather and creed vetiver combination. Two of the top 20 most popuar perfumes in the UAE.
Every time I think of Dubai and fragrance, I think of Amouage and cumin. I hate cumin in fragrances.
Anyone has a list of the perfumes and the cities?
Cuir to be released in June. According to SA.
The SA said that the owners, Eddy and the other one like to attend the launch of a new perfume dedicated to a certain locale and because they were just here, I think earlier in the year, they're contemplating launching it without them or something.
I got an email today saying that it'll be NEXT year before it's released now. Sigh.
I didn't know about this one...sounds interesting.

Where can i find some great perfume stores or some great places to check out a wide range of both niche and designer frags in dubai ? i am pretty new to the city.
Something similar to , maybe , paris gallery in abu dhabi ?
Hey hedonist ,
I am after
niche : frederic malle , l'artisan , Comme de garcons
designer : Dior homme intense mainly and whatever comes my way
on a side note , where can i possibly find vintage DHI in dubai ?
No Frederic Malle in the uae.
L'Artisan is sold atHarvey Nichols in Mall of the Emirates and at Bloomingdales in Dubai Mall. There is also a L'Artisan boutique in Dubai mall.
Comme des garcons is only available in Paris Gallery and IF boutique The Dubai Mall paris gallery is the biggest one. IF boutique is in Jumeirah 3 on Umm Sheif Street.
You'll find vintage DHI all over the UAE especially in smaller perfume shops.
Designers are sold all over. Sephora and Paris Gallery have huge selections.
Do you reside in Abu Dhabi or Dubai?
much thanks , hedonist , appreciate it!
Not released yet, almost 2 years...
I do NOT want to love this as much as I do some of the other city exclusives. Sadly, I fear for my wallet's safety come open season time in November for the wide availability of all the exclusives.
No Billy. You are not allowed to spam the boards with stuff for sale.
Any info? It will be released someday?
Any news on the new boutique opening in Dubai/Abu-Dhabi? The official Le labo site does not list either as boutique destinations...I hope they were not put off by Paris Gallery's ignorance.....
Does anybody know if this Cuir 28 thing is EVER going to be released???
They must be putting some gold scent molecules in this one...this thread started in 2009, and ive only seen a couple articles mentioning it. the name is on here under their section but no reviews yet. ive never seen this much mystery and suspense involving any fregrance release before. it is a true MYSTERY : P
with that said, I love Duabai and middle eastern culture. they rival the French in cusine and perfumery.
I LOVE leather fragrances. hope this one will be relaeased with the next round of city exclusive sales 2013??
I sniffed this at Barneys during the Le Labo event. Thought it quite good but the city exclusives are so damned expensive I only got a small bottle of Poivre. Had I known at the time it was not even available in Dubai I might have changed my selection. I have a small sample that I will have to wear one of these days.
1. Amouage Epic man
2. Dior Leather Oud
3. Perris Monte Carlo Oud Imperial Black
4. Le Labo Patchouli 24
5. Amouage Opus VII
6. Byredo Bullion
7. Norma Kamali Incense
Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.
Starts out very industrial.
Adhesive chemicals mixed with tar & petrol.
Along the lines of Le Labo Patchouli 24 but no where as warm and enveloping.
More like the whipping gesture of Gomma mixed with Etro, Nostalgia & Xerjoff’s Hommage.
But the final touch is a vanilla, bonding it together peacefully.
It is no doubt typically eccentric – like Le Labo is usually.
It remains medicinal for a while.
Soon the musk appears and adds another dimension.
Its not an animalic musk. It’s a industrial workshop musk.
Smelling Cuir 28 reminded me of when I got lost in Suzhou many years ago.
I’d gone off the beaten path and found myself next to a huge factory. Where apparently petroleum by products were processed.
The middle bit is where the excitement deceases.
It turns into a glowing vetiver (very synthetic – not that that’s a bad thing but its certainly not natural smelling).
The tar, leather, musk and anything that added flair is now gone. Very similar to Jovoy – Private Label.
It’s a warm glowing single dimensional vetiver .
Its sad because I am from Dubai and have been waiting 3 years for this to come out.
I’m a big Le Labo fan. I own and enjoy around 10 and will pick up another 5 soon. I had high hopes for Cuir 28.
To summarize, it starts out nice. Not unique mind you, but nice. A superb middle and ending would've made this a winner. That, it lacked.
Luckily, I do perceive the middle and drydown phase as a bit more interesting, a vetiver with a fake leather feel that retains some interest. And spraying on clothes, as usual, lengthens the initial phase. But I do agree that, unlike in the take-no-prisoners Patchouli, the initial excitement quiets down as the perfume goes into the middle phase.
I like it. Le Labo's best to date IMHO.
I've been really enjoying my bottle, a stronger, rougher and more concentrated Sycomore, vetiver is king in this scent, leather and vanilla weave in and out, Ambrox, muscone whispering and illuminating the heavier notes. I love wearing this in a suit to work.
Wore it last night for the first time. I thoroughly enjoyed it. However I'm not really drawn towards these types of scents - it's just not me. Nonetheless I love the leather, vanilla and vetiver combination and wearing it I felt simultaneously confident, comforted & engaged.
Interesting I hadn't thought about Fumidus but yes, I see what you mean.
