Hi Pomander,
Here's a thread that you may find helpful:

Thread: Lilac Fragrance Lookout |
Can anyone suggest a perfume that smells predominately of lilacs, or is at least reminiscent of lilac ? I haven't ever looked for one myself, so I don't have the slightest clue where to start.
Thanks in advance![]()

Highland Lilac. The best I've smelt to date as my mother loves lilac and has tried quite a few.

Totally agree with some of the ones listed already. En Passant and Highland Lilac of Rochester are wonderful. Here is a list of a few more:
Beloved Purple Blossom by American Beauty (can be found at Kohl's) very soft lilac
French Lilac by Pacifica
Lilac by Caswell Massey (can be found on amazon)
Lilac by Demeter
Shanghai Java Lilac Spiritual by Crazylibellule and the Poppies
Lilac by Elizabeth W (with a hint of jasmine, freesia and neroli)
White Lilac by Kinderhaven Farm
Lilac by Norman Hartnell
Hope this gives you a couple more to check out.
Ineke After My own Heart is very wearable lilac.
I also have the Highland Lilac, and while absolutely realistic and gorgeous, I feel like it is wearing me.
+1 for After My Own Heart by Ineke, very nice lilac! Totally forgot about that one.
By far my personal favorite is Highland Lilac of Rochester. On their website you can order a spray sample.
Also quite good is Demeter Lilac Cologne (not Demeter's 100% Natural Lilac EdT, which smells nothing like lilac.) This one is a bit powdery and lasts about 3-4 hours.
Less realistic is Pacifica French Lilac. The best item in that line is the body cream; the solid perfume has virtually no projection.
Two I do not care for, but many like:
• If you visit Barney's at Copley Place, try Malle's En Passant, which has a prominent lilac note.
• Also, as mentioned, Ineke After My Own Heart; they sent me a free sample when I emailed to request it.
I've never tried YR Pur Desir de Lilas but many seem to like it.
Thank you all for your recommendations and opinions on suggested scents. I now have a lot to look for.
You guys are the best!!!![]()

Just thought of another one, Dawn Spencer Hurwitz has White Lilac. A dewy, slightly fruity lilac.
BPAL recently released the Last Unicorn (white chocolate, lilac, oakmoss) and the Lilac Wood.
~Grenouille knew for certain that unless he possesed this scent, his life would have no meaning.~

Yves Rocher Pur desir de Lilas is a true mauve lilac, definitely worth checking out, you can usually get a great price on it too, under $15.00.
Avon essence oils had one in Lilac and also a California lilac cologne -serious avon vintage ,both are pretty nice .The essence oil came in a square glass bottle with a lilacy-lavender color plastic dabber stopper.
Guerlinade -if you can get your hands on some.
I have that one (the oil.) Must pull it out and try it again. (Edit: I see some of them on eBay.)
I'm actually wearing Highland Lilac of Rochester today. It has a limpid quality that I appreciate, almost a wateriness reminiscent of the water in a vase of cut lilacs.
I just got Jardin Clos by Diptyque. It is a lovely white lilac/musk.http://www.luckyscent.com/shop/secti...rdin_Clos.html

Can't think of a prettier lilac that Patou Vacances.
But it's the very devil to find, and you may need to re-mortgage your home![]()
This week, 'Chanel Cuir de Russie: Skin Scent' at http://thescentimentalist.blogspot.com/
Lilac Demeter Fragrance for women
French Lilac Pacifica for women
Lilac Caswell Massey for women
All of these have just a single lilac note
no other floral fruit or other ingredients
were added.
Kiliwia already said it, so I will second Crazy Libellule and the Poppies Lilas Spiritual for a great cheap thrill. It's a solid, but very true to the flower.

My favorite lilac scent is En Passant.
Sometimes I quite enjoy the cheapie Pur Desir des Lilas, by Yves Rocher too.
I have heard wonderful reports about Highland Lilac of Rochester smelling of a very faithful lilac and I will finally get to try it, thanks to 30 Roses, bless her heart, for mailing me a sample that should arrive soon. If this fragrance lives up to the reports and can be worn by a man or used on the bed clothes, I will spring for a bottle.
