    Good morning, all!

There's a dusting of snow on the ground, just enough to make the roads slippery and school delayed. But my daughter is going to be home sick anyway-- she has a solid head cold with fever. She just crawled back to bed-- and that is where I am headed as well!

Good morning everyone. On the weekend I feel like I can be more experimental, but facing the work day, I wanted something I knew would make me happy. Today I'm sampling DSH Ashram. Impressions to follow this evening.

30 Roses, I hope everyone's going to be feeling well at your house by this afternoon. Stay out of the snow and inside where it'a warm!

Morning! I'm wearing L'Eau Ambrée by Prada this morning. Yesterday's SotD was Brandy by Brandy, from a decant sent by a generous Basenoter. I was still in the mood for a gourmand after our sniff 'n speak, and I loooove that one. I broke a sample of Pink Sugar on the bathroom floor this morning - - so I'm still surrounded by sweetness today.

    Have a good day, all.

Thoughts on Ashram - The name makes me think of blue faced and beatific goddesses but the juice takes me to hot dry places, exotic sweet treats eaten in tents layers of cotton. Labdanum? Myrrh? Something really sweet, maybe it's jasmine?

(I'm going to get this wrong and be embarrassed when I look this up.)

I find it fades in and out like a ghost. If you put your nose to your wrist (or wherever you've applied) you can't quite catch it, but it will emit little whiffs at you when your attention is diverted. It's definitely not a powerhouse, though.

Thanks for the good wishes for my daughter-- she is better enough to be in the kitchen right now cooking the chocolate pie that is her homework for her Introduction to Foods class. She actually shooed me away form the sink insisting that she has to wash her own dishes.

I could become very used to this!

I'm wearing Une Rose today, sprayed onto rice paper in the large filigree locket I bought for the purpose at a mall store. This slows down the development and makes that glorious top note last and last.

I've mentioned this before but I have a paper blotter that I sprayed with Une Rose on July 31st, the day we last shopped in Boston. Yesterday, just for fun, I handed the blotter to my daughter, told her to have a whiff and guess when I sprayed it. "Yesterday?" she guessed.

That's how long lasting this one is.

    Edit:

I think I've decided Une Rose is best worn in cool weather. It is fantastic today!

I really wanted to like Ashram, but I don't. It's from a great house. It's a deep resiny perfume, just what I like. (No labdanum, no jasmine though. I'm hopeless.) Great topnotes. But it got stronger as I wore it. It's got a very classic perfume note that I don't enjoy. Either I don't like it, or it doesn't like me. I'm going to try another tomorrow.

My SotD is Penhaligon's LP No. 9, from the sample box sent by 30 Roses and I am feelin' the love for this one!

Hope this Monday is going well for everyone. And how come nobody ever tells me they have to wash their own dishes???

It's Yvresse again. I probably COULD do a week in it... I doubt I would, though, not now anyway, while I still have a lot of testing going on in my life. But this was my only FB purchase since my birthday in March, and it was wisely chosen, since I love everything about it and it makes me smile every time I catch a smell of it from myself.

Has anyone compared it with the original Champagne? I tried a sample from TPC and it's not that different to my uneducated nose. Think so?

    {{{{30Roses and family}}}}

Today I was still scented from last evenings Parfum Sacre so I left well enough alone. Plus I baked a fresh pumpkin pie so I did not need too much else to detract from that aroma. mmmmmm...

This evening after bathing I will be wearing the little spoken of La Fuite des Heures by Balenciaga, which is quite nice and dreamy.

Hope the week will go well for all.

Huggles to every lovely-scented one of you... Today I wore Yatagan as it's another scent I <3 but don't wear often. The coworker said I smelled "like Christmas" so I guess it was a !

And I received a sample swap from another BN lovely... am going to save the savoring until my sinuses "acclimate" to having the heater on in the house and I can actually accurately smell what I'm wearing. (hopefully that will be soon!)

Tomorrow's "the interview" and I am ready. Funny thing, I had to prepare three courses for entry in a competition and they were coincidentally the very courses I am using on my portfolio presentation... and they will also be used on our promotional website... so I was able to "work on my portfolio" during work hours and actually will get Friday off, as they waited until the last minute of the 11th hour to have me prepare them and to do so I ended up in the office on Sunday.

I am back home after some successful shopping. Everything is great, but my mood is a little bit in the lows. Am I coming down with something? I got a little chai with honey, got in bed and will take some work there. I'd rather not come down with anything!

Sampling Vero Profumo Rubj. A little dab gave me a little cumin and then very wearable tuberose, which sounds pretty exciting to me, as I usually cannot wear any. So I added more... well, that's A LOT MORE cumin! Hummm.... we shall see...

Stay warm and healthy, fragrant ones and families!

Fingers, legs, and eyes crossed for you, and a little prayer winging upward for your success tomorrow. Go get 'em, girl!
