Default Any fragrances that if discontinued, you would quit the hobby?

Just wondering if there are any fragrances out there that if were discontinued that you'd become upset or disillusioned to the point of, maybe not quitting wearing cologne, but the assertive collecting and hobbyism of fragrance.

For me it would be Kouros. I always feel like its such a wonderful fragrance with strong critical acclaim. Nothing is like it and not many come close to its edgy boldness. If it had to go in favor all the citrusy syrupy sweet boring garbage coming out nowadays I don't think I could continue the hobby. It would be equivilent for mean if Citizen Kane was stopped in production but I could only buy "Twilight "movies.

I'd probably have a few bottles that I wore as bread and butter (Rive Gauche comes to mind) but I don't think I would be able to enjoy the hobby anymore.

Hmmmm.... I love frags so much (especially wearing them) that the discontinuation of a few wouldn't reduce my passion one bit. Yes, i would be disappointed and miffed. But there are so many fragrances out there. I have so far endured not coming across my beloved Dunhill Blend 30 and others, yet i still look forward to others which are available but not yet seen as well as enjoying those available to me now.

No. If any I currently use were discontinued, there's always something else to take their place. Life is too short to be worrying about fragrances coming and going.

If Opium pour Homme would be discontinued globally there would be a missing piece of the puzzle for sure, for me personally. But I wouldnt quite this hobby because of that. But then again I've realized that I'm not that hardcore enthuasiast like most of the people on these boards are.

BUT if there was several discontinuations like Opium pour Homme, Chanel Pour Monsieur, Egoiste, Allure, Coco, Heritage by Guerlain and such there would be a huge breakdown for me concerning this hobby. I would loose the good spirit all at once. So... Yes... I guess.

That's like saying if your favorite football star quit would you stop watching football. 99% of the time answer will be no.

Impossible! So many of my favorites have already been discontinued; I just move on and buy new ones, and snagging bottles of the old on eBay if I can.

No, not any 1 scent, but if the house of Guerlain ceased to exist I think it would affect my interest in a big way. Of what I own, the ones I really love are mostly Guerlain, & without them it just wouldn't be the same :-)

No way. What in the world would I do without fragrance?
I spend more time with you guys on here than any other past-time.
That being said, they better not discontinue Aventus, or i will have nothing left to read about.

Probably, even if all the frags I love to purchase repeatedly, as multiple backup bottles, got discontinued, it would not deter me, since I would find all retailers of discontinued frags eventually (even if, due to the scarcity of supply, these frags would eventually become very expensive at first and then totally unobtainable at any price). I would, however, consider far more likely giving up my hobby, should all frags I like be fraudulently and cowardly reformulated, even without discontinuing

There isn`t such thing for me. In fact, most of my favorites got discontinued or reformulated. At the past i feard this phenomenon, now i now that you cannot run away of it. I have learned that you can always stock what you love when you find a sale, and if you really love it, you can find sometimes for premium prices at stores. And there`s always the possibility to substitute it with a similar one. Or to find a new fragrance to love. There is no need of extreme reactions.

Another way to look at it is -- when a fragrance is discontinued, that's when the fun starts. First, remaining stock is dumped to the online discounters, and if you're on the ball (which of course you are, being a basenoter!) you'll stock up big time at crazy low prices. Then, when that supply dries up, you'll stalk the fragrance on ebay, and watch the price rise.... and rise... but occasionally you'll spot a bargain and jump on it. And you'll love and value the fragrance all the more, realizing how precious and rare it is.

No. Many excellent fragrances, and some of my favorites, have already been discontinued, but I'm still merrily collecting away!

im sure many would say no, including me. but, in the spirit of this thread, i would be extrmemly disappointed if the following got discontinued...

    Montale Black Oudh
    Serge Lutens Musc Kublai Khan
    Parfumerie Generale Intrigrant Patchouli
The Different Company Un Parfums des Sens et Bois
    Diptyque Eau Lente
    L'Artisan Dzing!
    Guerlain Heritge EDP

    +

    Many more.. there, im done.

Nope. I look to the future! Past favorites being discontinued is unfortunate, and some may not like the current state of fragrances and such, but I'm still looking forward to what comes out tomorrow.
