Default Why commercial perfume bottles caps are crimped?

    Hi All,

We are making perfumes at home to sell. All of the commercial perfume bottles are crimped. Is it required by the law? We live in USA.

Guerlain L'Art et la Matière line,
    all Profumum Roma,
the 100 ml bottles by Annick Goutal,
and many more are not crimped.

Do they produce differently for the US market?

I think most commercial bottles are crimped to avoid adulteration (it makes it more difficult to fill the bottle with other stuff and resell). But there's no law or anything, and a few brands do sell screw on caps.
