Default SOTD Tuesday 21st December, 2010.

Only four more days until Christmas!
I am enjoying my new purchase - Donna Karan Gold.
This is a lovely, spicy, meaty lily scent - perfect for these
cold, dry days we are experiencing.

    Morning Christmas Bunnies !

Still in Chanel No 5 EDT ! Haven't worn this much No 5 since I was about 20 years old when I practically bathed in it.

Hello everyone. Last day at work today before the Christmas break and feeling demob happy.

I'm in No 5 Eau Premiere again. I know many regard this as a summer scent, but I'm finding it perfect for the bright, clear, cold winter days.

    Best wishes to all.

Yes! It's beautiful, isn't it? I fell like a log for it.

Wearing Rochas Femme today, the current Oliver Cresp reformulation - peaches, cumin, flesh and, yes, something akin to oakmoss. Goes well with a 30's dress, even though it's much more recent.

I had a craving for Dolce & Gabbana Sicily, so that's my SOTD:

top notes: absolute jasmine, black pearl rose, hibiscus
    middle notes: Sicilian bergamot, honeysuckle
    base notes: heliotrope, sandalwood, musk

I get lots of honey and fig from this one, even though neither is included in the note listing. Go figure.

    Take care, everyone!

Hermes Hiris this morning. I have an early Tue morning meeting, so I usually opt for an iris fragrance so as not to blast everyone out of the room. luckily for me, I love iris with a passion, and could almost wear the note in various forms everyday.

Oh, and on a very happy note (pun intended), my lost sample package showed up last night in my mailbox. They had been delivered to the wrong address, and it took them a few days to sort it out. But now they are in the hands of their rightful owner! Yeah!!!

SotM is Sweet Oriental Dream by Montale. With notes of Moroccan rose,
loukhoum (honey, rose water, sugar, fruit, jam, nuts),
    almonds and vanilla.

Similar to Loukhoum by Keiko Mecheri, but a little stronger and a little
    less powdery.

I have no idea what I want to wear today, I'm spoiled by an embarrassment of riches due to Basenoters. We're going up to see Mount Vernon, George Washington's home, for a little day trip today. Maybe I will wear an old fashioned rose scent. Or maybe a floral that really sings in this cold, sunny weather. Maybe I'll join our Lady GaGardenia and Le Grand Duc in No. 5. And maybe their illustriousness will reflect on me a little! ♥ Happy day to all!

Oh. I seem to have lost somewhere in the house both my keys and checkbook. Not something that you'd love to happen. I planned to start sampling Malles, but I don't feel in the right mood for that, so -- where's the logic? don't look for it here! -- instead I am sampling Amouage Gold which was on my test list for quite a while. Oh yes, and the warning I heard about it was right -- it is gorgeous, I love it, I will want it.

Ooh Commander's Palace Evangeline! Have fun!

Today I started as scent twins with Furriner in Habit Rouge EDP (the red leather-jacketed one)... perfect for a busy day at work. This afternoon I'm in original Mahora (courtesy of a kind and generous Basenoter) and feel like warm, tropical paradise even though the sky is grey and it's colder today than yesterday. I see how this evolved from Samsara (had the lineage backward before!) as the warmth and enveloping floral is somewhat similar, but Mahora's somehow more sensual and sophisticated, if ya know what I mean. Really rather damned sexy scent, this original version of Mahora.

It feels like forever since I checked in...hope you are all well and happy. It's been extremely busy, as most of you can understand...

Tonight, I am wearing a good dose of Fresh Strawberry Flowers.

Both this scent and Acqua di Parma Profumo were blind buys during the recent "gift card" promotion at Sephora. Yes, I'm nuts buying both unsniffed, but you know what? I just love them. I actually am not the biggest Fresh fan (fragrance-wise, that is), but this one is really lovely. As for the Profumo, it really is as wonderful as many of you say it is.

It wasn't today, but recently (like within the last month) I caught a whiff of vanilla in this one. I've been wearing 22 very regularly for over a year, and I just happened to sniff my arm at the right time to catch a different facet. Fascinating! This happened to me over the summer with Tabac Blond-- that time it was clove.

Shades, you and your delicious leathers... I need more leather in my own collection.
