    Good morning!

In No 5 Eau Premiere. I like this one a lot - beautiful, bright and sparkling, a bit like the morning here. It's a clear day and we've had a dusting of snow so everything looks wintry and wonderful. Even got a couple of robins in the garden ... lovely!

Cold Monday morning calls for a comfort scent today. Since the sky is so gray, I'll pick two:

Mazzolari Allessandro (powdery almond) on one arm &
Guerlain Cuir Beluga (velvety vanilla suede) on the other

    Super-snug.

Hope all are having a lovely start to the week!

    Good morning everyone!

My SotM is Tea for Two by L'Artisan Parfumeur,
    from a decant.
With notes of smokey tea, bergamot, cinnamon,
ginger, honey and vanilla. Every time I wear this
I like it more and more, very comforting for a
    cold morning.

Notes are pink peppercorn, white pepper, milk and honey.

I made a short detour to one of my favourite fleamarkets on my way home from work, and emerged with a modern-ish bottle of Cabochard in EdT. I have only smelled it in vintage parfum previously, so I applied this modern version (flat, rectangular bottle, slightly rounded front and back, with the Cabochard script vertical on the front and Grés Paris beside it, two gold bands around the black cap, no bow design - looks 90's to me) with a certain amount of trepidation.

This may be the most fiercely alcoholic opening I've ever encountered. Dreadful for all of ten seconds, then sharp, green galbanum and ylang. Very, very green and sharp, subsides quickly, this comes off as rather weak right now, but I think I may appreciate it in hot summer weather. Indistinct green florals, more ylang, vetiver and a little leather, but very faint compared both to the vintage and sibling scents Azurée and Aramis. I wouldn't mind far more isoquinolines. Yes, Cabochard is a mere shadow of it's former self, but as a green chypre for $5 this really isn't bad at all. Aramis and Azurée have been allowed to age far better, though.

Started the day in (too much) Coco Mademoiselle (forgot I spritzed and double-applied "in my sleep" LOL) ... and am in Gucci by Gucci this evening, probably suitable for the warmer than seasonal weather (mid-70's!) today but not my cuppa, so far. It smells much like many other modern scents that I don't care for (why? maybe they come across as "froofroo-feminine" and I usually don't like uber-femme scents that much.) And the gourmand quality of the fruity top, that doesn't appeal to me right now. The notes are Top: guava, raspberry and pear; Middle: Tahitian Tiare flower, orange blossom and spider lily; Base: patchouli, honey and musk. I have hopes that the drydown saves this one for me!

(Come to think of it, that slight gourmand quality in Mademoiselle is what was putting me off today having bathed in it. I like it when I apply JUST ENOUGH of it, then its' sillage is just at the edge of my perception. Oh well, next time!)

Was great, opening this thread this morning and seeing Hypnotic Poison, Eau Premiere, and vintage Tabac Blond. I'm scent twins with devilcat today in Eau Premiere. Is this stuff unarguably good, or what? I love catching whiffs of it throughout that day and thinking, "I smell so good!"

Thank you to 30 Roses, bookwyrmsmith, and Lessa for your sympathies to my in-law's in-laws' issues. Fortunately, the conflicts are resolved. Remember ledbymynose? She had the funniest signature, an old English or Welsh quote-- "All the world's queer, except for me and thee. And I'm not so sure about thee." It's so how the whole extended family thing feels, sometimes (from every member's perspective, I'm certain.) Anyway, it's all good now.

    Congrats on 5000, H!

    Great choices!!

Today I wore Nuit d'Amour by Guerlain from a sample.
