I did. I got the batch that is referenced a lot in this thread (S42B11S01). I'm no Aventus expert, but I thought it was fine. Seemed very well balanced.

As others have said, all the 2011 batches have reportedly been fine.

I'm on the fence about this one. I do like it and think I would like to get a bottle. However the sales person at Neimans in the city made a sample from "one of their newer bottles" yesterday and it seemed a little weak. I don't mind paying the full retail as long as I get good juice. I am also a crazy person who more or less swore off Creed because of problems I had with MI a while back.

Could be a batch issue, tomorrow I am getting in a different batch than I already have right now, and going to put this theory to the test first hand. Kind of excited to experience test the whole batch issue out for myself, but I have a feeling my current batch and new batch will smell close if not the exact same.

    Default Aventus batch C42B11X02 Comparisons?

Hello all, just received a bottle of Aventus, batch C42B11X02. Prior to this, I had two samples that smelled exactly the same (but no batch number), but they smell different from C42B11X02. Ive heard of batches that are smoky and batches that are not so ashy and very fruity, but are there others? The samples are very very ashy from the get go, and I can barely smell the pineapple, and no apples whatsoever. The C42B11X02 however is vastly different. Immediate pineapple and apple and not a trace of smokiness for the first few minutes. Then it gets smoky, but retains the transparent fruits. This doesn't fit any descriptions of batches I've heard before, is my nose just off?

Theres also something else in it, 5-10 min in, that I can't place. I feel like its slightly minty and fresh, and at the same time it reminds me of some chinese herbal medicines that I have smelled in the past. Though I also haven't heard of anything medicinal or herbal in Aventus.

Someone on the first page from dec-2010 said they had a a4210e01 batch.

I just bought this today (it's the 1oz) anda 4210e01this is the batch I got. I doubt its been sitting there since 2010. I'm not sure if this has already been talked about but is the a4210e01 just the batch number of the 1oz?
Anyway, I love my batch I wanted to go buy a 4oz but now this topic has got me worried it wont be as good as the one I got.

I don't remember what batch number my Aventus is, but I got it from Heperd's split. I wore it today and I can still smell it on my wrist 13 hours after I sprayed it on. I couldn't believe it when people said they were getting 10+ hours with it b/c none of my other Creeds last longer than 6-8. This is by far my favorite Creed. The smell is amazing and the projection is beastly at first. I got 13 hours of longevity so far from only 3 sprays!

I have a 2010 batch and 2011 batch. Upon side by side sniffing, I hardly tell a difference, and I'm pretty picky. Same goes with my sample (I believe from 2010 also- but a different batch number than my 2010 bottle for sure). The differences in batches is overrated in my experience.

    A42B10K02

    A42B11S01

I will say one thing: For some reason the A42B10K02 smelt less 'smokey' and thick than usual today. I really think people's claimed differences between batches is just dependent on how sensitive their noses are that day. I want to know: How many people sniffed batches side by side? How many sniffed days apart and make these variation claims?

Now the question is...do I really need 2 bottles of Aventus? lol.

Ive heard of batches with immediate smokiness, and batches with just a full blast of fruit. This one fades in and out. Something interesting though, I got a sample of this batch from heperd, and when I purchased a split of this, they smell slightly different. The sample is way smokier, but I talked to heperd and it really is the same batch.

    Still not quite sure why.

Wow, half a liter of a popular if not kitschy CREED. I can't think of any use for such a thing. Could You and the other contributors imagine to pile up a batch of batchnumbers and publish a review for every single one?!

my own flacon seems to change sometimes when I wear it, for me I think it's just different levels of fatigue or where I spray it on clothes vs skin etc. I have one of the first batches and it's about half gone, the 11 batches seem to be pretty awesome right now lots of fruit. Tempted to pick one up so I don't run out and have to check codes before buying lol.

^ That guy got sent home from work for the first time ever by wearing this batch of Aventus. He's got a pretty large-sized collection of strong fragrances that he wears to work everyday, asking for opinions.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lP4iQ23jhZI (skip to the end)

^ This guy has been helping YouTubers out by splitting tons of this batch at cost. Really cool dude. He bought about 4 liters of C42B11X02 already.

Another reviewer's first impression on the 11X02 batch:

I got this batch from a split with Heperd. I have never smelled Aventus before so I can't compare it to other batches. This batch however smells incredible. It projects VERY strongly and lasts 13 hours or so. It has a fruity/smokey smell and does seem to alternate which one it smells more strongly of.

I actually bought my bottle from the guy in the second link. Great guy.
Im beginning to change my opinions on this batch, maybe it isnt so bad. someone told me they could smell me from a few feet away, 8 hours after application, something that had never happened with this batch. My gf had said that she couldnt really smell me so I was worried about longevity, but maybe she just had a case of olfactory fatigue.

It would be nice to have a single post with all of the batches up to date and how they are. Though it is a bit subjective, there are a few factors that can be agreed upon.

Yeah, this is the actual review by him and his girlfriend regarding the 11X02 batch of Aventus:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IYGMsOTNIdw

There is already a huge thread on Aventus batch variations: http://www.basenotes.net/threads/267...-batch-numbers

But there isn't 1 single post that sums up everyone's feedback. The general conclusion is, 2010 batches are hit and miss with scent, longevity, and projection... while 2011 batches are all extremely good. All reports are the 11X02 batch is an abnormally potent, great-smelling Aventus on steroids. Too bad it only comes in 500 ml flacons, lol.

I would like to purchase Aventus from FragranceX, and sent an email to their customer support for clarification on their current batch numbers. The response I received (below) was not very edifying:

"Thank you for visiting FragranceX.com. Please browse our current selection
at http://www.fragranceX.com. Our inventory is updated daily and we look
    forward to serving you soon.
    Sincerely..."

Would someone who has purchased Aventus recently from FragranceX please verify the batch number you've received? Just want to make sure I get the 2011 batch that drew so many accolades here. FragranceX seems to be the most cost-effective @ this point. Thanks!

^ I purchased Aventus from fragrancex just before Christmas, the batch I got is A42B11N01. Smells great, definitely get lots of pineapple but I have to say the longevity seems to be lacking a bit compared to the decant and samples I've had. Also I noticed that shortly after I purchased they went "out of stock" for a while now it seems they have it back in stock, so they could have a different batch now.

They have 2011 stock of the other creeds at fragrancex. I cant imagine they would have any 2010 Aventus left over still. It is by far the best selling of the Creeds so the 2010 should have sold out long ago.

    All,

Iíve been experimenting with Aventus a while now and there is no doubt in my mind there are differences between the batches despite what anyone says. This Olfactory nonsense is not the only issue here although it probably plays a slight part. Iíve also been interested by peoples comments or experiences with tester bottles then disappointment when buying their own bottle. I live 5 minutes from my local store and tried a squirt on my right arm , when home , squirted my own batch on my left arm and the left arm was undetectable a couple of hours later, the right arm was there all day and I could get slight whiffs the next morning if I pressed y nose against it. It was different strength, no doubt about it. Interestingly I wanted to report on my batch number but Iíve only just noticed that the store skilfully placed the price sticker over the tag on the bottom that the batch number is part of and I cant remove it without ripping the batch number label, as such I cant find out the batch number. Deliberate attempt ?
Iíve also asked friends and my girlfriend to smell me and they cant detect it within five minutes of meeting me if Iíve had it on a couple of hours so itís definitely not olfactory for them either... Such a shame although I hear some of the newer batches are a lot better ?

    I have it, it's great !

The spraying from different distances to get different notes in the opening really works. I like spraying from about 8 inches away on the wrists to get a great balanced opening.

Hi, I've literally just registered with BN and what better way to start my first ever post with one about Creed Aventus!

Bought mine (end of Jan 2012) in the brand new John Lewis at the equally brand new Stratford shopping centre, (by the Olympic site) London. I was going to dip my toe in the water with 75ml bottle, but they didn't have any so went for the 120ml - it's better value anyway! The batch number is A42B11Y01 and it's smell is addictive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Trouble is, I'm a bloke and wonder if it will have the same effect on women ;-)

So, if anyone has this batch number IMO, you won't be disappointed.

    Regards to all...

    Congrats and welcome.
You got a better deal going with the 120ml CREED.

Welcome to BN. I own 8 ounces of Aventus. Lol. It is addictive and I love it also. There are many threads discussing Aventus Batch Numbers and although I've never tried the batch you have, I'm sure that it's good. Women love this scent also. I've never had a woman tell me she dislikes it. Haha. I think there is something in it(pheromones) that attracts the opposite sex.

Loved the 11X02 batch for the above mentioned reasons!!! I just found the newest 11Y02 batch at my local store. Does anyone have any experience with this ??? Does it smell like the 11X02 batch??? The 11X02 batch has been my favourite, but I cannot find it anymore.

i liked the C42B11X02 batch the best (strongest pineapple and best longevity for me) but cannot find it anymore. However, I just found the newest C42B11Y02 batch at my local store. Does anyone have any experience with this??? Does it smell like the 11X02 batch???

I've done a side by side with a Y02 sample and they are identical.

Amen!!! It's like get one that works and stick to the shit. It's so f'in annoying how each one I try is different. To be honest, sometimes I think it's "aventus". It changes everyday I wear it. I don't know tho. Don't get me wrong I still love a "bad" batch of Aventus but just don't give it the appreciation that I give to a good batch of Aventus.

wow ! just got my c42b11x02 batch and the difference is stirking. I've got my current batch (number unknown as the store put their security tag on botttom of box and I cant get it off without ripping the batch number sticker) on my left wrist and the new one on the right, the differnece is very notcieable. striking in fact. I have mixed emotions. Over the moon with the new batch but slightly concerned about having to go through the heartache of spending that much money to find good future batches...

I now know what people mean when they say 'ashy' opening. The new one is much frutier and more smooth. Cant wait for the drydown..

I love Aventus. I couldn't imagine a bad batch of it. Or one with short longevity.
