Default those familiar with Bleu de chanel please tell me...

I picked up a sample from the perfumed court of Bleu de Chanel. But I'm starting to wonder if they sent me the wrong sample. It's been awhile since I last owned Creed MI, but this stuff smells VERY similar to what I recall Millesime Imperial smelling like, especially the marine note and the so-called watermelon note. Is there a very strong similarity between the two? Seriously, this has me wondering if I was sent the wrong sample by accident. Have you ever been sent the wrong sample by mistake? From the perfumed court?

I've seen other people comment it smells like GIT or something akin, but this seems unmistakeable. Bleu de Chanel smells like MI no doubt about it.

You must have a very sensitive nose. To me they are different.

I have worn them extensively. Very different. Bleu is undoubtedly an aquatic...and a "dirty" one compared to the heavenly Aqua di Gio.

I don't even consider MI an aquatic. It's in a category by itself.

Bleu de Chanel by Chanel - One is immediately greeted with a very fresh, citrus pas de trois by the tangy orange tree, the tart lemon tree and the zesty grapefruit. Warm pink peppercorn as well as a well-developed peppermint join in to make a very crisp cocktail as it flows to the waiting middle. Wonderfully, spicy and sweet nutmeg and a somewhat penetrating ginger, floating on an ethereal cloud of sweet jasmine, subsume the delightful opening. The lighthearted heart is drawn to the strong, woody base with its dry cedar and bright and fresh sandalwood, along with a smattering of evocative incense. The welcoming base is augmented by patchouli with its slight peppery, herbaceous aspects, vetiver with its earthy grassiness as well as radiant labdanum imparting a sweet and salty, vegetal, mossy facet. Thence, the resplendent base meanders to its soft drydown. Really an all-season scent thriving in spring, summer and fall, this mainstream scent is subtly nuanced enough to set it apart. This pleasantly refreshing composition has good longevity and good projection.

Bleu de chanel for me shares "vibes" of the Allure line . I also like the smokiness in it due to the incense .

Hmm. I feel i was sent the wrong sample then. I don't understand how what I have on me right now could be confused for anything else but MI. I'm kind of upset. I was lookimg forward to finally smelling what I've seen discussed so much on BN. We'll see how this yatagan sample goes tomorrow.

Is there a mall near you where you can smell Bleu?

Yeah I'll be taking this sample with me to the mall this weekend to settle this for myself. I just ordered a bunch of samples recently from the perfumed court and this one of them.

If I had to compare Bleu de Chanel to a Creed, it would be a cross between GIT and Himalaya.

    I love Bleu de Chanel.

Bleu is nothing like MI, in any of its batch variations. Sure, Bleu is often referred to as an aquatic, and MI as the "king of aquatics," but aquatic is just a general category with scents that are often nothing alike.

And I agree with Sensual that MI is really in a class by itself.

You might be right: it smells like at least one hundred other masculines. Forget this Chanel unworthy creature: it's overprized Air de Rien.

I am gonna go against the grain here and actually agree that Bleu has an uncanny similarity with MI, only that a good batch of MI is far more vibrant and richer than Bleu.

I wore MI yesterday, Bleu today. Not close in my opinion. And let me add, Bleu is better!

For the sake of science I just put Bleu on one hand and MI on the other. While they do have a similar vibe, Bleu is stronger and a bit more harsh. MI is softer and more smooth with a hint of pineapple.

Some similarities to me. I adore Bleu......but sadly my boyfriend is not yet convinced.Prefer Bleu by a country(nautical) mile and I do like MI.
