    Default So many Cereus Frags....

So who can shed some light on this? They all look about the same, and apparently some of the numbers have been switched around?

I would love a rundown on the varied items. Thanks.
My top ten, in no particular order:
    Eau Des Baux
    Spicebomb
    Dunhill Desire(red)
    Polo
    Halston Man Amber
    Mugler Pure Havane

    D&G The One Gentleman
    Coolwater

I think the Fragrantica reviews are quite good for Cereus. I prefer #12, which I think should be considered unisex.

I believe there are just 5 for men.....#4 (which is a fresh green apple-based cologne), #5 (which is now #6 and smells similar to TdH), #7 (which has a Gucci PH II vibe), #11 (which I don't like and can't compare it to anything), and #14 (which dries down to a very nice and warm cognac fragrance).

Be careful about ordering these from eBay. I ordered a couple of them and they did not smell like the samples I got from Luckyscent (which are only $3, BTW). They smelled so different, I sent them back.

These are $15 to $25 on eBay and $125.00 from Luckyscent. I guess you get what you pay for.

So I bought a 5 that smells like Ilum Dean Fresco, but not as close to Aventus. I was told that was the TDH copy. So now it is #6?

    I will try #6

Cereus offers sample packs of all of their fragrances on their website.

    I though 5 used to be 6. Now 6 is 5. Maybe I'm wrong.

I have #s 5,7,11 &14. I love all of them. I am always tempted to buy 4 just to complete the set, but consensus reviews are it has serious longevity issues. I get at least 8 hrs from the others with nice projection from 5,7&11. (14 is a skin scent, but lasts)
11 is an interesting fragrance with a very nice anise scent that gives way to vetiver in the drydown.
I find them all easy to wear and are very versatile. I have no problem wearing any of these day or night in any season. I do think 7 is more summery than the rest.
I think they are all FB worthy.

#4 lasts forever on me, but it seems like it's that musk and/or wood molecule (s) that some people can't detect. I wore #12 today, actually, and I really enjoy the use of rosewood in this one, though you have to wait half an hour or so for it to be competitive with some of the top notes.

I have a sample of 12. I thought I would let my wife try it but she is not so enthusiastic about fragrance.
I thought I would gift in a trade someday or whatever. Now you have piqued my interest.

This! I wasn't aware of all 5 men's fragrance samples from the Cereus website, and it's only $5! What?!?! Not sure about shipping costs, but this is much cheaper than Luckyscent.

Note: Just noticed that the 5 samples are only for a "single use".

There are a lot of testers for sale on Ebay.

I bought #7 from there and pretty sure it's authentic. Highly recommended it.

Just bought #14 for $20 but haven't received.

Pretty sure the company is out of the retail fragrance industry and thats why all the testers are on ebay. The cap looks great and it sucks not to have it but if you like the GIT vibe I think #7 is as good or better. Not the same, but the same Iriis locality.

I can't recommend #7 enough for < $30 US. Better longevity than GIT and probably the best < $30 fragrance I've encountered.

FYI.....Cereus is still in business. See the link I posted above. Not sure why they haven't put out any new fragrances in years, however.

I would assume the eBay sales are hurting them significantly.

Oddly, Luckyscent still carries the line, but "Cereus" is not even in their "Find a Brand" pulldown menu. You have to specifically type "Cereus" into the search box in order to find their fragrances.

I honestly think they are done on the retail side - if you noodle around their websites it seems like they are now on the back end of fragrance creation, or something?

At Luckyscent, for $100 you get a bonus - a cap and a box.

I noticed some non-tester bottles at ebay for 40 bucks or less for the less popular releases.

Default Re: So many Cereus Frags....

I ordered two of the cheap Cereus fragrances from eBay and they were both horrible. They were so bad that I sent them back.

It was very clear that the top notes (at least) of the fragrances were degraded, as they smelled nothing like my samples from Luckyscent. The only similarities were still in the base notes, as they dried down slightly similar to my samples. So I can't recommend buying these eBay testers....especially #5, as it has been discontinued for several years. You might get lucky and find one that hasn't turned, but I wouldn't take the chance.....even for $25. If it's so bad it's unwearable, you've still wasted $25.

The estimate the website made for shipping costs was 87 dollars to ship it to the Netherlands. So that would be 92 dollars for a 5 single use samples. Sounds like a great deal!

Seriously, that's almost worth writing them and asking about it just to see what they say.

My #7 from eBay is one of the best things I've ever smelled. Lots of compliments but maybe I just lucky.

Pretty sure eBay is littered with testers BC they were done on the retail side
