I am already in possession of Avignon and the Cardinal. What else do you propose to me?

These are very natural in style, not the iso e super-loaded variety which everyone has been imitating since the (brilliant) CdG Incense line:

    Villoresi Incensi
    Vintage (!) Czech& Speake Frankincense & Myrrh
    profumo.it Mecca Balsam
The obscure but delightful Styrax Origin Storax Amber by Parfume Noir, a goth/medieval German fragrance

I also like Etro's Messe de Minuit
    My Wardrobe
II est de forts parfums pour qui toute matière/Est poreuse. On dirait qu'ils pénètrent le verre.

+1 on Mecca Balsam and also I like the mid to latter stages of Memoir Man - these both tell a story.

Anick Goutal's Encens Flamboyant is also interesting, it seems brighter, not as dry as the CdG series.

+1 Memoir Man. An incense masterpiece, but also so much more.

If you want straight up lemony frankincense, check out Shanaan. I also like the very incense heavy, and very earthy and salty Skarb by H&G. It's fantastic, and works better than most incense scents in the heat.

    and more!

my current top five (always in transition)

    eau de gloire parfum d'empire
    Dia man Amouage
    comme des garçons man 2

Jub XXV and Ubar are frankincense bombs to me. Frankincense does not smell very incensy to me though. Dia is Amouage most incense offering in my opinion.

Samsara and Opium have a little incense but not enough for me to call them incensy.

    Jubilation XXV FTW.

Montale Full Incensecould be used as a reference frankincense scent. It is very dry wooden with a strong distinctive frankincense accord. It stays very linear. C&S Frankincense & Myrrh more pleasant to wear, but doesn't smell of frankincense nearly as much as Montale Full Incense does.

I like the frankincense note in C&S no. 88. It blends well with the green, soapy rosiness. I get a similar quality in Prada Infusion d'Homme. It's a lovely use of the note.

Mecca Balsam is my favorite, after Avignon.

    Would agree with this assessment.

I like Bois d'Encens (Armani Prive) although it may be more due to the black pepper. It is WAY overpriced but I like how the frankincense is enhanced by the black pepper. Definitely sample this before ever considering purchasing.

Agree on Bois D'Encens (Armani), Frankincense & Myrrh (Czech & Speake) and Incensi (Villoresi).
Here's an excellent one: Olibanum by Profumum. Very dry, aromatic and satisfying.
