Question Thicker letters on Acqua di Giò bottle?

    FAKE BOTTLE from PERFUMANIA ????

Hi, folks! Happy new year to everybody!

Could you please compare the 2 bottles,
and tell me if this one from Perfumania (online store) is legit?
    The letters appear thicker.

    Thank you in advance!

Bottle from Perfumania (thicker letters in the Bottle, ok in the box)

Bottle from Armani USA and StrawberryNet (ok)

The font looks dodgy on the top photo, and yes, the text unnervingly bold.
I would proceed with much caution!

Another possible explaination has just occurred to me:

Perhaps the image has been lifted from a site or the net where a watermark was running across it, and the designer decided to erase the watermark AND logo, and start again.
Whatever the case, it does not inspire much faith...

The accent marks are different (over the O's.) Mine looks like the bottle in 2nd photo.

I've been searching the whole "google images",

    and the bottle from Perfumania
only can be found on Perfumania online store.

Did any of you buy ADG from this site?

The letters in the BOX are fine.
But the letters in the BOTTLE are thicker AND lower (in height)

I'm trying to contact them via e-mail, with no success.

Guys, the bottle they've put in their website is different from ANY OTHER from google images, lol.

I was thinking maybe they just had bad lighting and just basically "fixed" up the image so it's more readable, the letters on the Gio bottle are kind of shiny and might be a little harder to photograph.

If the actual bottles they are selling look like that, well that's a different story!

probably a poor photoshopped image, like others have said they could have been removing a watermark or something of the like.

No. I want to buy some bottles from there, for me and some friends in brazil.

The first bottle: the letters are definitely thicker. You can obviously see this on the termination of the I and the G. The accent over the O is oriented differently. If you tilt the image slightly you can see that underneath the labeling the color is white, not the greenish gold you see around the edges of the bottle. It looks almost as if a label has been peeled off and the edges softened. This effect is quite odd.

It does appear to me that the image may have been manipulated. This seems a more likely scenario based on the above discrepancies than a fake bottle.

It is worrisome, though, and casts doubt upon the integrity of the seller. Unless you can get confirmation from the company I would suggest looking elsewhere to buy.

I wonder where are the bottles from.

If it is from some stores, or only one, or what.

Who has experience with this store?

I said earlier that I have a part-time job there. Perfumania sells legit fragrances. I have no experience with the online store, but I doubt they would sell fakes there either. Perfumania has nearly 500 retail outlets and work on repeat business.

Legit fragrances maybe, but I know for a fact that they sell out dated and old stock. I recently compared a bottle of Donna Karan Cashmere Mist that Nordstrom sold, and a bottle that Perfumania sold. The perfumania bottle was in a different colored writing that hadn't been used in years while Nordstrom was selling the current colored writing.

I'm a graphic designer, Its photoshopped.
What bother's me the most is how different the Q's are.
    Doesn't make it fake, though.

Pretty sure it's just some crappy photoshop work for advertising purposes, the lable on GIO is kind of shiny and doesn't photograph well.

The image is edited with a photo-editing software and the 'designer' played a little bit with contrast and hue-saturation. That's it.

Oh, and Is there a way to discover when the perfume was made?
In the perfume code or something.

    thanks

Perfume batch codes can be really obscure. I don't worry about them, personally.

Yeah, I just pulled out my bottle, and the reflection is really nasty. It's kind of strange now that it's easier to just 'shop something than it is to get a good pic to begin with.

Definitely agreed. Perfumania is very reliable. When you were doubting Perfumania vs. strawberrynet I was really doing a WTF, 'cause in terms of online consumer complaints, that's kind of backwards. However, people here lately are getting all good stuff from strawberrynet, it seems, so if you stick to frags and avoid the women's facial cosmetics there (those, plus failure to refund or deliver, make up most of the complaints online), you're probably OK.

Also, one more important point that may get lost here. Frags like ADG go WAY back. There have been a LOT of small packaging changes. My ADG bottle and box are fairly old, and don't quite match what's coming out now. The boxes have definitely changed, and the positioning of words on the bottles very, very slightly. Mostly it's just minor and typographic, but that's what we're talking here.

The real test is the smell of the juice. Better to wait for that than to declare a fake without real cause.
