Get both. Mem first, then Jubz
Basically, I've been testing both of these a lot lately via the 2ml sprays in the Amouage sampler kit. I love them both and both sprayers are nearly empty. Problem is, I can only afford one just now, but will most likely buy the one I don't go for at some point later on this year. I think I probably do prefer the smell of Jubilation very slightly, but Memoir has it beaten in sillage and longevity which is an important factor. I also own the fantastic Opus IV which does the incense thing superbly. So, which one should I get just now then?
Get both. Mem first, then Jubz
Looking for Hermessence Ambre Narguile and for TFPB Moss Breches (50ml bottle), willing to pay in cashdollars. PM me!
Jubilation XXV would be my pick.

I haven't smelled Opus IV yet but I would imagine it is closer to Jubilation than Memoir?
Anyhow, I too love both Jubilation and Memoir but own a bottle of Memoir and not Jubilation because I find Memoir far easier to wear. Jubilation, to me, is more or less a fall and winter only scent, and it is so darn opulent that I just can't wear it that often. It's like cheesecake or something - have a little once in a while and it is divine, have it a couple days in a row or even a few bites too many and you're sick. Memoir works great in the fall and winter too, but I imagine it will work much better as a more casual evening type scent all year round than Jubilation. It's a bit lighter and less 'full' than Jubilation too, which makes it easier to wear in the heat.
In some ways, Memoir seems more unique to me, too. I mean that only in the sense that there are more autumnal spicy incense fragrances in the same vein (but not of the same caliber!) as Jub. XXV, whereas the dark/smoky/foresty incenses seem to be rarer (or I've missed out on them ).

By default I would choose Memoir. Haven't tried it yet, but have tried Jub. XXV and didn't like it.
Personally, I prefer Memoir, though I like both. I think Memoir is absolutely exquisite though
I prefer Jubilation XXV. Memoir didn't really do it for me.
I smelled both. Memoir will be my choice.
Would have to go with Memoir
Want to run with the big dogs stop pooping like a puppy!
Both are more than great. But I prefer Memoir. Believe me, you will never get bored of this Memoir.
Of the two surely Memoir, though none of them is a real favourite of mine.
You say you prefer the smell of Jubilation to Memoir, so Jubilation is the obvious choice to me.
You say that you get less longevity out of Jubilation, but isn't this relative? I don't know about you, but Jubilation will easily go 24 hours on me, and survive showers.
We own Jube XXV, Memoir, and IV and I think Memoir is the most versatile of the 3. Exercises in elegance and sophistication yes, but still versatile. Like you, I prefer Jubilation XXV by a nudge over Memoir but find I use Memoir considerably more often.
Hope that adds to the mix a bit.
Buy Memoir. Jubilation xxv is nothing special for me, don't get it, some fruit and basic incense base???
I prefer Memoir simply because it is much more versatile than Jubilation.
Jub is a specific scent that can be cloying at times. I find it to be appropriate only at clubs or during informal meetings. Definately, not for the office.
On the other hand, I don't think that Memoir has a very unique smell. It is pleasant enough but I am not sure that it is worth such a high price tag.
Memoir Man is the more versatile of the two. JXXV is a little too rich for frequent use - a small decant is more than enough for me.
Jubilation XXV....no question.
Thanks a lot to everyone who's replied. The vibe seems to be go for Memoir and that's where I'm currently leaning I think. I'll hold off on my final decision until until both 2ml sprays are gone though. That's when I'll know which one I'm more keen to smell again asap!
Jubilation XXV if you must. It's wonderful. The only downfall of this fragrance is terrible longevity. I get about 4 hours-- that's awful for a non-fresh fragrance.
I don't care for Memoir. I just dont enjoy it, it's not my kind of fragrance. It reminds me a lot of Dsquared Rocky Mountain Wood (one of the notes I guess) which I blind bought and also dont like. Love that bottle but in two minds whether I should get rid of it...
Neither really appeal to me.
That's a bummer for you.I get about 4 hours-- that's awful for a non-fresh fragrance.
Mrs. J. showed up at our office at 10:30 today wearing Jubilation XXV. Given her schedule today she would have had to apply at approx 7:30-8:00 am. She still smelled faintly of it when I got home at 6 pm.
That's pretty decent methinks.
Christopher Chong describes Memoir as geared towards the evening 12 months out of the year but well able to be a daytime scent as well, just with a bit lighter application.
Why not buy the Amouage Trinity: Jubilation XXV, Memoir, and Epic.
Definitely think I'm going with Memoir. Wore it agaon yesterday and it was just fantastic. I'm amazed by the longevity really. It's been over 24 hours and I can still smell it on my wrist. As a "green" fragrance, I think it certainly tops the mighty GIT.
Memoir Man!!!!! Its my number 1 HG!
Is the juice worth the squeeze?
Jubilation XXv of course!
