Default As I Wear This Rive Gauche on My Chest...

I keep thinking that if it was a Creed product, it would sell as well as GIT and people would pay top $ for it. Instead, it's a semi obscure little scent from YSL that costs less than most Sephora carried colognes.

Don't mean to gush, but this stuff is gushable.

Reminder - Don't spray it on your neck or the olfactory fatigue will prevent you from having a most enjoyable experience.

I would consider it a classic. I am one who does spray it on my neck and for me it wears well.

So true. Also, if you've never tried the Rive Gauche Pour Homme hair and body shampoo (shower gel), run don't walk to eBay and get one. IMO the best shower gel ever made and even smelled better than the EDT.

It's not an obscure scent, and it probably sells much better than GIT does, being a mainstream designer fragrance, available in far more places.

It's a very nice, inexpensive fragrance.
Vintage Guerlain, Maître Parfumeur et Gantier, and other rare off-site sales.
Frederic Malle, Guerlain, by Kilian, and Amouage splits.
New atomizer and decanting supplies for sale.

This scent is great and it feels more expensive than it actually is. It just shows you do not have to pay the big bucks for a decent fragrance.

I agree with Luca Turin when he wrote that it took real balls for YSL to release a fragrance like Rive Gauche PH. Manly barbershop-style fougeres aren't exactly the "in thing" right now. I remember buying it when it was first released (2005?), and I used up the whole bottle in about seven months. It's an outstanding frag that I should wear more often than I do.

Any fragrance that should not be worn in public, should be worn in public.

Shame about that raw egg smell which only diamondflame and I seem to get.
On the bright side, there are lots of excellent and cheap barbershops around still.
