    Question Terre d'Hermes Parfum.

Has anyone purchased the extrait strength in Terre d'Hermes and if so, how would you compare it to the edt in terms of scent and longevity?

It lasts longer however the EDT is a smoother scent and has a more pleasant dry-down. You can create magic by layering them though.

The edt has a strong citrusy opening, I guess that's due to the grapefruit. The edt is a bit sour. The Pure Parfum version is sweeter, richer, bolder. It's not sour at all. I prefer the Parfum version.

The parfum is stronger and more natural-smelling. I personally like it better than the EDT, however the Eau de Toilette is the more accessible version.

Parfum also has an interesting bright floral note stuck in the middle of all the rich EDP stuff. +1 on the layering, too.

Ihave a bottle of edt and samples of parfum. both are good, but I like parfum better. Edt has a bit irritating opening of black pepper mixed with some kind of aromachemical ...

EdP for sure. For all the reasons listed above it just feels more 'refined with a bigger presence'.

Now go out and buy it !!!

the pure perfume is more glamorous and let on your skin a more smoky/mineral feeling.
the edt is more sour and sharp.

I definitely prefer the EDP. It comes off as more smooth and natural although you will smell more orange peel. I think it is worth the difference in price.

I would imagine Saks, Neimams and Nordstroms have it available on line

I ordered some from Beauty Encounter -- they have it in stock (or did). Arrived last week. Initial impressions: it smells smoother and dirtier, and is missing the sour, bitter citrus opening/midnotes of the EDT. If if you're put off by the sour smell of the EDT, you should love it. I've gradually come to the belief that mixing the EDT and EDP works the best by cutting the sourness of the EDT and giving the longevity of the EDP, but both are great on their own as well.

This is a real tricky scent, i enjoy it and find it very unique, i wore this the other day to work and had a few people ask me what i was wearing, so i'll take that as them enjoying the scent, however, i did have someone say who forgot to wear deoderant today, it smells like BO. I can only assume they were referring to TDH, becuase no one else around me wears any type of fragrance....oh well i love it and thats all that matters

Not weaker in fragrance strength, per se... It just stays a bit closer to the skin.

IMO the perfume version has better longevity, while the edt has stronger sillage. I prefer the richer, denser, heavy, "dirtier" perfume version.

The PP is more in line with the other JCE creations and probably the fragrance he wanted to create all along. The EdT, on the other hand, is very atypical for Elena and 100% commercial. Oddly enough, i prefer the EdT. Stronger sillage as others have said and the mineral aspect, which i really like, is more pronounced.
