Default Something like Allure Homme Sport but not as sweet?

    Hello all:

I recently disovered that I like the overall smell of Chanel Allure Homme Sport, but the drydown is a bit too sweet for me. I like everything else about it except that aspect. Is there something else out there that has the same general approach but might not be as sweet, maybe substituting some more woodiness for the sweetness but still retaining Allure Homme Sport's bright characteristics? Any suggestions other than Versace Pour Homme would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

Good question, as I find Allure Homme Sport to be rather unique for a fragrance of its type. Versace Pour Homme is a good recommendation, though.

Allure Homme Sport Cologne (in the clear bottle) turns up the citrus and is basically a long-lasting bitter citrus cologne (lemons and grapefruit). It's actually very good compared to the original, but you have to like Lemons/Grapefruit to enjoy it thoroughly. Lemon and Grapefruit are two very bitter, sharp citrus fruits that can make or break a fragrance for many people. I didn't like the Sport Cologne at first and I still hate Allure Edition Blanche, but they can grow on you.

Hell, I'd even go as far as to recommend Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue for Men or even Acqua di Gio. Same vibe from both fragrances, just not as sweet.

PM me if you have bottles that you're willing to sell or trade!

I would go with the regular Chanel Allure Pour Homme from which the sport was a flanker. It has the perfect level of dryness and sweetness for me.

    Versace Pour Homme
-- It's mostly citrusy from top to base.

I do not like the sweetness of AHS. And I found Versace Pour Homme to practically be a clone of AHS, so I did not like the sweetness of that one either. Try Dior Homme Sport.

I like Allure Homme Sport, but wholeheartedly agree with your two recommendations. Dior Homme Sport manages to regulate out the sweetness with the Ginger.
