Default The sweet smell of ....Northern women!

According to a recent poll by Debenhams ( a U.K. based department store, )
women in the North of England smell sweeter than those in the South.
Research has revealed that more women in Northern cities such as Manchester,
Nottingham, Liverpool and Sheffield, wear feminine, sweet, gourmand scents such as Flowerbomb,
whereas there counterparts in the South opt for more musky, woody scents such as Aromatics
Elixir and even borrow their partners fragrances at least once a week.

The research also revealed that Northern women will invest in a large bottle of their favourite
scent and wear more of it - they top up their perfume in the morning, afternoon and often twice
in the evening. Down south more women go fragrance free during the day, but keep a bottle of scent
in their bags or office to use for a night out.

Midlanders (like myself) are more prone to choose traditional, enduring, classic perfumes such as
Chanel No.5 and Coco Mademoiselle. (Not true in my case, but I am not normal where perfume is concerned!)

This trend is also reflected in fashion-choice; Northerners wear more party dresses and the
highest heels whilst Southerners team more masculine scents with a more edgy fashion style.
A woman without perfume is like a flower without a scent.

lnteresting. l guess there are exceptions to every rule, though. l'm a southerner, but l love sweet fragrances & wear them throughout the day, & my style is definitely not "edgy", more bohemian. l also have a Northern friend who always wears masculine fragrances.
l often wonder how they pick people to take part in these polls, they never ask me!

Why is it that these polls are most often about women? How do those northern men smell?

Ahhh, the sweet smell of ..... Valentine's Day marketing. I expect this is pitched at desperate husbands/boyfriends who need some help choosing a frag for their ladies - might as well throw some geography into the mix
