    Default Oriental barbershop fragrances

All right, so we deal with standard / english / italian etc. barbershop frags but what suggestions do you have for an oriental one? How would Rive Gauche mutate if placed in the desert?

I would consider something like Avon Wild Country to be an oriental barbershop frag.

Truefitt & Hill Grafton is the ultimate barbershop frag.
    It is incense based

It's a fun question. Almost makes me want to mix something up, like maybe Opium pour Homme layered with a little Creed Vetiver 48.

I'll post if I come up with any good recipes. Likewise, for layering fans everywhere, please chime in.

    Good thread. Thanks Mr. Wolland.

I have the perfect scent for this: Forreau Noir by Serge Lutens. This happens to be one of the exclusive scents, so it's only available at the Palais Royale. Still, I think it captures exacty what you're looking for: fresh, lavender, fougere-ish masculine notes combined with a wonderfully sweet and orientalized base.

Damn - that sounds like mighty fine stuff. . . a plane ticket to Paris is not entirely out of the question. . .

Le Male is the classic example. It definitely smells like it, and the composition is supposedly 40-50% musk.
