Default Designer fragrance is a "niche perfume"

What designer fragrance could be classified as a niche perfume, because of the quality and of balance, and could stand easily, if not above, between some expensive perfumes?

Paradiso Inferno. It's a simple gardenia and dry incense, and is reasonably natural smelling. I wouldn't be surprised if it was inspired by a niche frag, or if not, if it inspires a niche company to make something similar.

@ sailim - you may benefit from searching the site, and 'bumping' a recent thread:

Slightly off-topic, but one of my least favorite Basenotes trends is when a reviewer will trot out the following motif:

"If [lowbrow, cheap, drugstore or mass-market scent] were released by [rarefied, expensive niche brand] and sold for [sky-high price], people everywhere would praise it from the heavens."

We could make a drinking game out of it. Every review that claims Tabu or Jovan Musk is an artisinal scent in downmarket clothing makes me want to pull my hair out and spray vintage Chanel 22 into the eyes of the hackneyed "critics" who resort to this performance-art level of reverse snobbery. Enough already. You're wrong, and about a hundred other people were similarly wrong before you.

    ...Sorry. Carry on.
