    Lucky you!

Well, Serge Lutens Palais Royal for the Paris exclusives (save your nose for the exclusives only, olfactory fatigue sets in) is an obvious necessity. Perhaps more than once (actually, it's the only sales assistant who ever suggested that I smell how they develop on my skin and come back the next day!)

Dyptique (a few, I went to the Victor Hugo one) carry also their discontinued ones (Virgilio etc)
Patricia de Nicolai (the main one I think is rue Poincare near Victor Hugo, but there are others)
and many, many more (Etat Libre d'Orange, Maitre Gantier et Parfumeur,...)

Galeries Lafayette and Printemps also carry niche stuff, divided between the two (ie if one has them, the other doesn't). conveniently, they're next to each other. I think I remember that Printemps has, among others, Lubin and Histoires de Parfums, and Lafayette has Amouage, Parfums d'empire, etc etc

Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. That's why I can not wear a perfume that bothers me. Perfuming is an instinctive wisdom. And like all art, it requires some knowledge of yourself..."

As I'll go this week, I've already discovered, from his own answer: no place in Paris. Too bad, but you can order samples through his homepage.

Anyhow, thanks for the addresses, the majority I've already discovered, but there are some new of them One address, which is still not listed: Clive Christian 57 Quai Grands Augustins, by the Seine, near to St Michel boulevard.

    I wish you great discoveries

    Caron - avenue Montaigne
    Guerlain - champs elysées
Serge Lutens - jardins du palais royal
Don't miss Printemps/Lafayette for smell les heures de Cartier (the SA here is 100x better than those at Cartier shop) and many other niches there.

If they're still in business, you should check out the IUNX store next to the entrance of Hotel Costes on Rue Saint-Honoré.

I have a Google map for Paris fragrance shopping: http://maps.google.de/maps/ms?ui=map...,0.051413&z=14

Besides guerlain, Creed, and so on I second the IUNX store (Ether de Iunx is fantastic) and you should visit the extraordinary JAR store at PlCe Vendome at rue Castiglione.

Make sure your hotel is on the right bank. Near the Louvre is a perfect start. Couple of addresses missed out is Penhalgions next to Collettes shop (find CDG - Avignon etc..) opposite is Jo Malone which is close to Maison Francis Kurdijian + Malle. Forget Guerlains on the Champs there is one on the corner of Place Vendome opposite Annick goutal and Jean Patou. Stroll by Hotel Costes near the entrance is the Costes shop ...worth a sniff. Head north across Place vendome towards Montal around the corner from Montail is Maitre Parfumeir + Gantier contine pass there heading towards the Madeline you will find L'Artisan Perfumer.
Printemps + Galeries Lafeyette is well worth for Lubins are other hard to fin scents, there all together including the complete range of Hstoires de Parfume. Hint: there a inside Dior boutique there also 20 meters way from the perfume counters - hit Eau Noir and the other two.

Great suggestion! Another vote for Galeries Lafayette.

    Hey,

I´m trying to find some information about the Bercy area near the river for a trip Im taking. I checked out Montparnasse as a place to stay but then found a little information about Bercy. the info I got said that it used to produce wine or be a place where they shipped it by river. That´s apparently over and now its a hip area a bit away from the center? I also have been looking at Bercy Hotels near the subway here and was wondering if anyone knew of a god one. Any help is appreciated!

If you haven't seen it already, they offer tours of their perfumery where you can learn some interesting history.

The same shops above are still there. Printemps and Lafayette have redone their perfumery dept and they are even more upscale.

Parfums d'empire had a few nice things (eg Azemour, Musc tonkin-the line is at Jovoy). And I always like to stop at a de Nicolai for whatever is new.

    Enjoy Paris!

If you have time, stop in at the Montale boutique. As mentioned, Printemps and G. Lafayette are musts. Have a wonderful time!

Visited Montale and Maître Parfumeur et Gantier back to back.
Was more excited to go to the Montale store....until I got there.

We were treated far better at MP&G.
