Question What do these scents all have in common?

My daily scents currently rotate between the following:

    Platinum Egoiste (Chanel)
Dolce & Gabbana Pour Homme (Dolce & Gabbana)
    Fierce (Abercrombie & Fitch)
    Chrome (Azzaro)

To my nose, all of these fragrances have some very similar notes, but are considerably different in execution. The best I can say is that to me, they are semi-sweet woodsy with a touch of citrus... with Fierce being the sweetest, and Chrome being the dryest.

To help narrow things down even more, the following have been recommended to me as similar scents, however I personally did not smell what I liked in them: XS Pour Homme (Paco Rabanne), Amber Pour Homme (Prada), Ice Men (Theirry Mugler), Garrigue (Maitre), Curve (Liz Claiborne).

Being newer to this, I am not yet able to really put the correct ingredients to what I'm smelling. I'm kind of hoping there's only one or two things that all four of these have in common, that I can then look for in other scents.

What do these all have in common? And, what are some other scents I should be sampling?

I am confident that the expert olfactories on this forum will not let me down.

mostly the only thing they have in common is the citrus feel. Here are some you could try with similar taste:
    -Armani Code
    -Burberry Brit
    -212 Men
    -Diesel Fuel for Life
    -Lacoste pour homme
    -John Varvatos Vintage

Thank you!! I will have to add those to my sampling list.

The only other thought that I can add- I feel the four I listed all have a clean, almost soapy vibe to them, which I enjoy. However, when I mention "soapy" people tend to recommend fragrances that that also smell "powdery" which is a problem for me... dislike the powdery.

Some accords might create the illusion of a note and all the ones you mentioned have a fresh and young feel.

IDK the first two but the last two are somewhat fresh and woody. You probably like...fresh and woody lol. And definitely not patchouli (Ice Men)

It's the sharp jasmine note that's in PE, Fierce, and Chrome.

D&G pour Homme is citrus top with a woodsy/musk base.
Five that I am enjoying right now

    1) Sel de Vetiver by The Different Company
    2) Spiritueuse Double Vanille by Guerlain
    3) Bois des Iles by Chanel
    4) Devin by Aramis
    5) Coromandel by Chanel

Jasmine! Yes... thank you. So I am a guy looking for a citrus top (preferrably Jasmine) with a woodsy base with a touch of musk? Is this about right? I seem to see "sandalwood" associated with most of these frag's descriptions... is that a major player in any of those four?

I agree. What they all have in common is that they are very popular and recognizable scents. All of them remind me of a mall in So. California.

They all smell like something coming out of one of those places at the mall. The places I veer away from as soon as the smell hits me.
