Default Want to know your favorite notes? Try a Word Cloud.

Did you always want to know what your favorite fragrance notes were? I thought this would be an easy way to visually identify what seem to be my favorite notes in fragrances. I placed the notes of my 4 and 5 star favorites fragrances into Wordle and this was the result. Simply visit http://www.wordle.net/.

It seems that I am partial to Amber. Who knew?

Kind of fun exercise. That 80s "sandalwood/patchouli" combo sort of stands out with mine.

This Wordle tool can't treat oakmoss, Oakmoss and OakMoss as the same thing. It's unfair on Oakmoss!

Fruity notes. Just a little bit is lovely enough, should not overdo it.

This looks like great fun but the "tool" didn't work when l used it! l spent ages typing it all in, but when l clicked "Go" the box went black & stayed that way for an hour before l gave up on it. No messages came up to tell me what was wrong. WTF??!

I'm thinking about splitting them up into two groups. It just seems weird to put Silver Mountain Water and Kenzo Power alongside Tobacco Vanille and Dior Homme Intense.

So now all we need is a program that can match our favourite notes to some fragrances we would like!

    EDIT; Sorted(thanks Flaconneur!)

Love the idea! Although it split up some of my words, even with comma's, so it looks like I love blood and leaf, and other funny stuff lol.

I just ended up removing the spaces in words like OakMoss and PepperBerry.

If you want to link 2 words, just put a tilde between them.

I don't need a site to tell me that. It's tobacco.

If you are using a Mac, just hit the "Open in Window" button and then press and hold the command + control + shift + 4. Then select the area that you want and it will past it to your clip board. You can then past the copied image into an application, save the image and upload to you photo hosting site.

This was fun. Thanks, Flaconneur! I limited mine to the top 50 words and chose my colors:

I was surprised about a couple of notes that showed up!

Dullah, from your word cloud it appears you are a big fan of citrusy eau de cologne-styled fragrances. Is that anywhere near accurate?

Guys, just a thought. Try excluding the ephemeral top notes from the process, or limit them to prominent notes in your favorite fragrances. Otherwise, more often than not, bergamot & citrus will pop out. Likewise common fixatives like vetiver, sandalwood, amber, etc tend to be over represented. Fun exercise indeed.
