Default What perfumer do you follow the most ?

Being new to this I am finding a more common denominator in my fragrance likings; and thats the Perfumer. Other Perfumers im finding to be 'one hit wonders' and other, more accomplished perfumers carry a vibe that I seem to be attracted to, in theory. Who do you seem to be most impressed with as a professional Nose ?

My favorite Nose by far: Alberto Morillas.

When I find myself very much drawn toward a fragrance, I usually find out after the fact, that Sr. Morillas was the perfumer. His work just suits my style and taste perfectly. I also think he personally exudes confidence and good taste.

Duchafour repeats himself far too often (for example: Timbuktu, Jubilation XXV, Aedes, Baume du Doge and Al Oudh are all minor variations on a theme). I also find that many of his drydowns are very synthetic and turn on my skin. It's a shame because I like his ideas and concepts.

My two favorite perfumers are Lucas Sieuzac (Reflection Man, Jubilation 25, Noble Vetiver, Azzaro Now, Givenchy Play & Intense, and a few others) and Karine Vinchon (Opus III, Memoir Man, Coeur de Vetiver Sacre and L'eau de Jatamansi). I find that I tend to love or at least greatly enjoy all of their creations. I also think J25, Reflection Man, Memoir Man and Opus III are some of the finest scents ever created.

I'm also a big fan of Morillas and am growing into a fan of Christophe Laudamiel..I just need to sample more of his work.

Francis Kurkdjian has one of the most accomplished noses currently around. I'm always very keen to know what he has in the pipeline.

I went through my wardrobe and found few common threads, perfumer-wise. Still, I will say that my ears prick up for Jacques Polge (maximum respect for Sycomore and all those old Ungaro scents). I also note anything released by Christine Nagel, and am starting to pay attention to the work of Maurice Roucel (still too over-the-top for me), Dominique Ropion (always some odd note that turns me off, except Carnal Flower) and James Heeley (a thinking man making perfume).

Jean Claude Ellena (so many of his scents)
Céline Ellena (very moved by a number of her scents)
Thierry Wasser (both the pre- and post-Guerlain versions)
Olivia Giacobetti (some of my early loves, and appreciation of her diversity)
Jacques Polge (some of my absolute greatest loves)
Olivier Polge (I appreciate his works even when I don't want to buy)
Annick Menardo (if only for one or two highly influential scents)
Alberto Morillas (so many of his scents!)

Do I have to pick just one? It has been all of them. Ask me later and it will be a different one!

I don't follow the nose since I don't seem to like everything by a single nose. It's usually hit and miss for me. I really have to like the scent itself.

That being said, I pay speciall attention when I see the following names mentioned: Buxton, Grossman, Menardo, Morillas, Kurkdjian, and Cavallier.

Although I respect all of these talented and accomplished artists, for some reason I never caught the "magic" of Giacobetti (and I wanted to so bad), Ellena, Roucel, or Duchaufour.
