Default very masculine, but very modern at the same time.

what is a fragrance that a guy 18-mid 20's would have absolutely NO objections to wearing, but it also doesnt fall into the category that usual people in that age group wear that are gourmand or aquatic, but just masculine, manly, and smells attractive.

    thanks basenoters

It's not that masculine IMO, but it's good stuff, would suit younger guys better, and is safe as can be.

Jacomo for Men was first introduced in 2007 as an oriental woody fragrance. Creator, Mathilde Bijaoui, offered top notes of flauntingly fresh and sweet pineapple and citruses, featuring sharp notes of black pepper. The heart is also spiced and sharp, wrapped in accords of pimento, coffee, plum and nutmeg. The base consists of Tonka bean, amber and vetiver. This powerful masculine and, above all, highly exotic and spiced scent is available as 50 and 100 ml edt.

I agree - smells modern but very different, and oozes masculinity. Tom Ford Extreme, too, for a bit more modern and just a tad less masculine.

It may help if you define "masculine" or "manly". These definitions have an immense amount of variation.

Magnetism is modern with that metallic/cola at the start and then the dry down is masculine and quite sexy. Great for going out.

+1 on 2Man. Fits the bill. Johnny, based on your professed admiration of Gucci PH I, I think you'd dig this. I find them to have a similar vibe, but 2Man certainly feels more modern, more unique.

On the mainstream side of things, I think Givenchy Play fits the bill. Starts of sweet and citric, then dries down to a slightly sweet woody smell. A little generic, perhaps, but fits the 18-20 anyone can wear it, not particularly gourmand, not aquatic. Less weird than 2Man...

yeah 2Man, and many other fragrances of CdG in general. It's really hard though to find a modern young generally pleasant modern fragrance that is not fresh or gourmand.

Would you wear something like Frederic Malle Iris Poudre?

Lady at Nordstroms told me Bang was a top seller and she also gave it to every guy she knows as a Christmas Present.

Though I've personally never noticed before when I've been out.

    +1 CdG 2 Man

Another one that is overlooked but is sexy, suave, modern and yet (unlike most modern scents) distinctly masculine is Michael Storer's Djin. It's smooth and dark and yet has hints of that 'fresh sweat' smell that women typically love. I mostly get grapefruit, cardamom, and a deep rose note bolstered with some natural galbanum, all over a very smooth and sexy human-like musk.

Not only is it a great scent, but it's at a great price. It's only like $75 for a bottle.
