Default Feminine perfumes - which ones do you own

Which feminine perfumes do you own and use ? And do tell why, if you care.
Not unisex, but perfumes directed to women.

I personally only own one, Guerlain Samsara, usually im not much to spicy perfumes but this combined with ylang and jasmin makes it almost perfect.

    Magie Noire

    Pierre Cardin's Choc
    VC&A's First

Shiseido Feminite du Bois - the best violet-cedar oriental there is; terrific soapy unisex drydown
Robert Piguet Visa EdP - immortelle peach-cobbler suede; I can't help smiling when I wear it
Robert Piguet Bandit EdP - dark, fresh, bitter leather; so ballsy it had to be sold to women

L'Heure Bleue EdP - the original bittersweet oriental
Mitsouko EdP - the original peach chypre
Shalimar EdP - the original civety vanilla oriental
Apres l'Ondee EdT - when experiencing sadness isn't enough and you have to smell like it too
Chamade EdT - Creamy green floral with enveloping warmth, no masculine equivalent
Vol de Nuit EdT - Green woody floral with no masculine equivalent of requisite quality

Mostly, I own them because they are wonderful and there are no substitutes.

    I own:

    Cabaret
    Jean-Louis Scherrer (EDT and EDP)
    Tabu

I own Scherrer because it's the greatest chypre ever and I love it. I own Cabaret because it's a really good rose chypre, and I bought Tabu because I love patchouli and I'd heard it's a patchouli bomb. Not crazy about Tabu, though.

I have on my wish list Magie Noire, Mitsouko EDP and Lancome Cuir

Quite a few, many mentioned above.

Specifically from Amouage I like Epic Woman, Lyric Woman and Memoir Woman and I'll put in a plug for a couple more Guerlains, Attrape Coeur & Sous le Vent, both of which I like a lot. Acqua di Parma Profumo is another one that's noteworthy IMO.

PS You know, scratch Profumo - not because it's not excellent, but because I have not seen any marketing that specifically targets women for this one, so in that sense it's 'neutral' (as opposed to marketed as unisex) with no ads and no 'Pour Femme' after the name. The others are overtly marketed towards to women by their makers.

    Hiris
    Gold Woman
    Lyric Woman
    West Side
    Shalimar
    A la Nuit
    Vanilia
    Feminite du Bois
    (Shiseido, but it's almost finished)

Why: Because personally, I am not sure what smells masculine or feminine anymore.....

Oh, I used to own Samsara too, it's really good..

20% of my wardrobe. I wear them all on a regular basis.

    Histoires de Parfums 1876 (2001)
    Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Pamplelune (1999)
    Chanel Cristalle (1974)
Serge Lutens Féminité du Bois (1992)
    Guerlain Jicky (1889)
Issey Miyake Le Feu D'Issey (1998)
    Guerlain Mitsouko (1919)
    Chanel No. 19 (1971)
    Guerlain Philtre d'Amour (2000)
    Guerlain Shalimar (1925)
    Guerlain Vol de Nuit (1933)

My Mitsouko, Shalimar and Vol de Nuit are all extraits (pure perfume). My interest for female marketed scents started when I was looking for green fragrances with galbanum ("green" is a fragrance style that for unknown reasons is vastly ignored by the male fragrance marketing people) and also when I wanted to experience extraits. My taste for orientals has then made it very easy to adopt the great Guerlain classics.

Quite a few. I have successfully managed to eradicate the tendency to perceive a fragrance's gender assignment.

In other words, if I like the way it smells, I'm gonna wear it.

Black Orchid, Black Orchid Voile de Fleur, Bulgari Omnia, Tabu, Mitsouko EDP (new formula), Mitsouko EDC (vintage).

I prefer EDP formulations for their strength and longevity and there aren't many men's fragrances that you can get in EDP strength. I love Black Orchid's projection, longevity, and creamy sweetness. Mitsouko has a great dried peach note and the oakmoss in the vintage stuff is crazy. I wear whatever I enjoy wearing and don't really care if other people think I stink!!!! Yeah people at work hate me at times but that's their problem.

Exactly. Perfume is perfume, regardless of what it says on the box or which counter it's sold at. The whole notion that gender matters in any way is quite frankly pretty newbish (>ducks thrown bricks<) - everyone I know (male or female) who's *really* into fragrance doesn't care about gender. Tough to say but I'd guess 70-80% of my collection, a couple hundred bottles, is feminine marketed. Of those 50% plus are as unisex or more 'masculine' then today's masculines.

If a feminine fragrance was re-branded as a masculine would it then be ok for you to buy/wear/sample? This happens and guys don't notice (i.e. Prada Infusion d'Iris/d'Homme). Shows how silly the gender labels are.

I just got a bottle of Le Temps d'une Fête, which is sold as a fragrance for women. It is quite floral, but not in a "precious" way, and it is very earthy, so I think it is more unisex than people think.

None. I don't like 'female' perfumes - on me. Except Jicky, which was ever since intended to be unisex. Same with some 'niche' as Rien. Otherwise I go for hard edge structures and a clear message. As a man I can't stand overly complicated or otherwise broadend fragrance which originally have no use at all! To be loud - primitive. To hide body odors - uups! To emphasize BO - use 'male' perfumes, if You dare.
