    Arrow Gris Clair Lavender

I was wondering how Gris Clair compares to other favorite lavenders like Oxford & Cambridge, Caron PUH, Arome 3, etc.

Don't know Arome 3 or Oxford & Cambridge, but Gris Clair is not your usual lavender. It's quite unique and very well blendend. The feel of fresh lavender growing in a smoky mountains of Morocco is well made.

Funny you should ask. Last night I was wearing Pour un Homme and my partner was wearing Gris Clair. These two are completely different in their lavender presentation. PUH is a warm, gooey and earthy lavender over a straight forward vanilla base, while Gris Clair is smoke and ice with lots of synthetics on the top, feels a bit like you're visiting a holy man atop Mt. Everest. Both are bracing, so it really depends on how you like your lavender. Oxford and Cambridge is more straight forward, lovely though. Arome 3, I've only smelled once.

Gris clair is a lovely lavender , for the first 20 minutes. Then sadly the lavender goes away , sadly.

Gris Clair has an ashy, burnt, electro-charged feel to it that some have described as cold, but for me it smells almost steamed. Very hard to describe, but the lavender plays a part in a sort of mythic story. Whereas the other lavender scents you mentioned are very straightforward, linear, medicinal lavender colognes: masculine, classic, conservative, bracing.

    Totally different.

Arome 3 is the best IMO.

Indeed it is divine--especially the vintage formulation. The best unisex lavender fougere IMHO. Not as rich as others (i.e. Jicky, Patou Prive, etc), but see my glowing review.
