I wouldn't say so. I'd wear it. Who cares!
My question is the elixir version of hypnotic poison any good for a guy
i smelt the original edt of hypnotic poison and loved it but thought it was
a little short lived on my skin, but i hear the elixir formulae has been tweaked
so wondered if it now smelt too femenine for a man to wear
thanks in advance
You need to try it. What is "feminine" for one person, may not be for another. All you are going to get is a bunch of disparate answers, especially from people who have never tried - but will be the first to tell you it can't be worn by a man because it is marketed to women.

Can anyone tell me the difference between this one and the original? Thanks.
If it works for you, why not?!?
Difference between HP and HP Elixir:
From fragrantica reviews:
"Hypnotic Poison Elixir smells quite similar to the original Hypnotic Poison.
It's just a tad bit varmer and darker.
Especially in the beginning I pick up a more distinct smell of the licorice and star anise.
In my opininon it smells a little bit sweeter than the original.
I guess the licorice gives it the extra sweetness, combined with the anise of course.
Smells absolutely wonderful.
Both the original and the elixir are worth buying, and I often use them at the same time.
It is a little werid that the only notes listed on this page are licorice, star anise, jasmine and vanilla though. Since clearly that's only some of the notes in this frag. It is a very complex fragrance to my nose. And I don't think they have been cutting out some of the notes from the original. At least I think they smell very similar.
They are both great fragrances.
As said before, a very memorable smell.
So beautiful it almost brings tears to your eyes."
"t's darker, velvety smokier and much more seductive than the original Hypnotic Poison..
The licorice combined with anise and vanilla gives a super sexy blend that lingers on your skin for at least 10 hours!
The almonds give a creemy feeling that balances with the vanilla and prevents the whole mix of becoming too sugary.."
"This one is better then the original, its more dark and has sensual vanilla. And it smells a lot of licorice..smoky and salty licorice..i love it!"
