Personally neither. But at least I would find Eau Sauvage to be wearable. Not so for L'Eau d'Issey pour Homme - which is one of the most wretched fragrances ever created IMO.

    Sign.

It's not even a contest. Liking a frag is obviously up to the wearer but Eau Sauvage is one of the greatest citrus classics and I do know that this is no quality per se whatsoever but you might want to think about why that is. It's great for and on many people.

L'Eau d'Issey is just vile. Some sour, citrussy mess.

Eau Sauvage hands down. L'Eau d'Issey is nice enough, but a bit cloying, and too pungent. Dior as a signature scent... it goes without saying

I actually like both...but prefer Eau Sauvage in Vintage formulation. Issey Miyake, while it can be polarizing has a wonderful scent and great vetiver in the dry down. It is for the mainstream - but one of the best mainstream offerings in the last two decades in this realm of scent.

I like current formulation Eau Sauvage, but it pales in comparison to Vintage's richness and depth of notes. To know Eau Sauvage in Vintage form is stunning. I think Issey Miyake holds up well to current formulation of Eau Sauvage. More floral, but still wonderful citrus (mainly yuzu, of course).

For those who like Issey Miyake more - don't fault them. They probably have never tried Eau Sauvage in its true form (or prefer modern, mainstream scents). To me, Vintage Eau Sauvage - A True Masterpiece!

I chose not to vote, but wanted to add this post to the thread.

    Cheers!

Eau Sauvage is a classic but I don't like it.

    I like L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme.

What an insult to the classic Eau Sauvage to be compared to the loathsome L'eau d'Issey pour Homme.

    LOL, how dare you indeed!!!

I also prefer ES and don't very much like Issey.

How did you narrow your signature scent choice down to these two? I must admit they seem an unlikely pair.

Eau Sauvage's time has come and gone.

Rather than such a dated scent, choose:

L'Eau D'Issey pour Homme by Issey Miyake - The top notes burst forth with an invigorating, yet perplexing, citrus; then the heart revels itself in a floral and spicy concoction; and the soothing, yet oriental, woody base rears its lovely presence. It has excellent sillage and longevity. Its originality makes for a somewhat futuristic journey.

I'd take Eau Sauvage any day, my tastes are rather classic and immensely fond of citrus-chypre.
