hednic, where would we be without your obscure fragrance suggestions?

Bois du Portugal smells nothing like Live Jazz IMO. Live Jazz is more like Tiffany for Men Sport, to me.

Bois du Portugal is an oriental in the style of New York. I would say BDP is a bit more "in your face" than New York, with a more pronounced neroli note.
    SEEKING BOTTLES OF:

Aramis New West (preferably old bottle)
    Patrick by Fragrances of Ireland
    Azzaro Aqua
    Gloria by Cacharel

PM me if you have bottles that you're willing to sell or trade!

One thing that stands out about BdP is that I've tried wearing this in the summer and every time it's been too heavy. Live Jazz is a summer champ. If BdP was lighter it might resemble it a little bit, but it comes off as an "in your face" fragrance whereas Live Jazz is just so wearer friendly.

I don't get all the comparisons to PdN New York when that starts off with such a strong citrus blast. Maybe hours after in the dry down a bit.

Agreed. PDN much more powdery and unisex.

That's crazy talk. Live Jazz is fresh citrus and Bois du Portugal is a woody oriental. They smell nothing alike. I also don't think di Nicolai's New York smells like BDP except a little in the basenotes. What New York really smells like is a more wearable version of Gerlain's Heritage.

Bottom line for me: Bois du Portugal smells like nothing else. One of a kind.

To my nose Bois de Portugal, has some similarities with Derby, however Derby is IMO a superior scent.
Besides of that, believe it or not Bois de Portugal disappears on my skin within 4 hours.

PS: Live Jazz is nothing like Bois de Portugal.
It is like comparing North to South.
