Love Like This... It's so comforting.
Ducky, that is some haul! I can already smell your Pour Un Homme de Caron
A blind buy of...
LOST! in scent and music
I just won this 75ml after shave on the Bay.
I hope it's as strong as recent Eau de Toilette.
It'll fit nicely into my little family of egoists.
The big Cologne Concentrée I got just a few
days ago. I traded it with our very own Daniel.
God, I love Dior!
Duckie, you wrote- "God, I love Dior!" after posting all your new Chanel treasures. LOL! Do you feel guilty for cheatin on your favorite House??
Today I rescued Fresh Sake. I loved a sample of it I used up almost two years ago, so bid on an available used bottle on Evil bay

HOLY CRAP ON A CRACKER!!!!
Mouth open while I'm gawking at those pics, Duckie....
Hearts starve as well as bodies; give us bread, but give us roses.
I blind bought Lilly Pulitzer Beachy at TJ Maxx yesterday. Was going to order a sample from Perfumed Court, but found a full bottle for cheap so went for it.
Duckie- come visit me in the US South and I'll take you to OUR flea markets were you can buy: aspirin stolen from local stores, pirated Narcocorrido CDs, pit bull puppies, daylilies and anything you might want with a Confederate flag on it!
vintage Baghari R. Piguet, 25 ml in a 30 ml bottle. Not here yet, I hope I will like it....
plus Y. Rocher Rose Ispahan 30 ml, I succumbed to very positive reviews.
Not strictly bought, but nevertheless: a 10ml of Breath of God from Lush, a present for Mothers' Day from my teenage son, spending the last of his birthday money, and letting me have it a day early too .... altogether now - ahhhh!
Duckie, I may need to move to Copenhagen! Jaw dropped when I saw what you got at flea market!
Yesterday I bought small 1.5 or 2.5 decants from The Perfume Court (15% off for April Fool's Day) of
Tom Ford Black Orchid
The Party in Manhattan
Dior Hypnotic Poison
MDCI La Belle Helene
Muscs Koublai Khan (this one I'm a bit nervous about because it's so polarizing but I do love every Serge Lutens I've ever come across and do love musk so...have to give it a whirl)
I also got a tiny sample of:
Vero Profumo Onda pure parfum, which is supposed to be the closest thing currently available to Guerlain's legendary and discontinued Djedi. One of these days I'm gonna break down and pay the $20 for a tiny sample of Djedi.
First of all I am AMAZED at the above pics from The Duc!!! WOW! What a FInd!! Wish we had "flea markets" like that around here! I visited my fave place in Grandview, Earth Elements, and picked up Peony Bliss. I thought it so refresshing an original. Got home and realized it is Bliss. As in the fragrance from Bliss Spa. Oh well. For $19 no big loss. Still prefer Paeonia from l'Occitane, tho, for peony.
Still looking for Heartfelt.....
Forever in search of Heartfelt....
My blind buy of Gianfranco Ferre Bergamotto Marino arrived today. I was on the lookout for another fragrance to cut the 100 degree summer heat, and I may have found a winner in this. Bergamot!! Yeah!! An EDC, but it is rather tenacious.
So I have Tuscan Soul, Sur le Nil, Eau de Lalique and now Bergamotto Marino that fit that bill for me. Not ground breaking, but simple, clear and cool in the summer heat (heat like opening the oven door after baking and feel that blast of heat hitting your face - no fragrance should have to stand up to that, but I now have a few).
Bergamotto Marino is avail. for around 30 bucks, and is the last Pierre Bourdon creation before he retired. Worth sniffing if you would like a simple, easy to wear eau type fragrance.
Cello, that Gianfranco Ferre Bergamotto Marino sounds great. May need to pick that up for NYC sweltering summer days! I just bought mini bottle of Crystal Noir because apparently I must try everything that more than one BNer refers to as a femme fatale scent and some vintage Estee Lauder Private Collection. About to pull the trigger on some Guerlain Cologne du 68 for my bro-in-law, who fell in love with it after I gave him my decant.
2x 50ml Eau de Toilette,
one vintage - one modern
1x 6ml parfum pour le sac
Well, I caved in, and I bought Chanel Chance Eau Tendre today. I've been looking for a spring scent for a while, and having tested a number of other options (including MDCI La Belle Helene, Keiko Mecheri Isles Lointanes, etc., which left me underwhelmed), this somehow felt right--gently floral, delicately fruity, and only a touch of powderiness in the drydown. I loved the original Chance, but not the flanker that followed, so I almost surprised myself by liking Eau Tendre.
Cello, I have exactly the same impression about Bergamotto Marino. It's one of my go-to scents on hot Summer days, not groundbreaking but very pleasant.
My purchases -which arrived yesterday- are Lyric Woman and L'Heure Bleue parfum
Also a few FM samples, including Le Parfum de Therese, which makes me agree Diorella & LPdT are sisters. Think I actually prefer LPdT, which is more melon/fruit, and less contrast between the ripe & 'minty' aspects.
Good to see the Duc started the month exercising restraint, makes me feel better about two bottles of vintage Chantilly I just brought...
I love vintage Chantilly and want to wear it on my wedding day! I need reserves of the juice, one day it will be gone...
“Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children. This is not a way of life at all in any true sense. Under the clouds of war, it is humanity hanging on a cross of iron.”
