It would probably sell very well, just like their records - something bland and boring that appeals to the masses.

Probably. My point though was literally, how COULD they market a fragrance? "such and such by Creed" would not be allowed, i'm sure. I think a couple of bands have frags out, don't they? I would imagine KISS have one since they markey anything else they can possibly get their zillionaire hands on...

It may have done well 10 years ago at the height of the band's popularity. Nobody gives a crap about Creed anymore. (IMO)

They could market it under "Pearl Jam Wannabes".

I think it could be allowed. In this case the word Creed is an essential element of both entities. If Creed (the band) were trying to put out a legit fragrance and not trying to use the Creed (the fragrance company) name to bolster sales, then why not? Creed (the band) shouldn't be denied their biggest marketing tool just because another company happens to share the same name...

Poor example. They shared the "WWF" name in the US for over 20 years. It would still be WWF had Vince McMahon not violated their agreement on how they would share the name internationally.

I think they already had some intellectual property issues between the band and the perfume but I'd have to check the EU patent registry thingy.
