    Default Best Burnt Stuff

I love the smell of burnt things. What are some of the best burnt-smelling fragrances? I'll start ...

Burnt Leaves: Olivier Durbano - Black Tourmaline
    Burnt Wood: Profumum - Arso
Burnt Incense: Comme des Garcons - Avignon
Burnt Spices: Serge Lutens - Serge Noire
    Burnt Matches: Jacomo de Jacamo
Burnt Lavender: Serge Lutens - Gris Clair...

What do you other lovers of all things burnt have to add?

I like what you selected, but would like to add:

Burnt Leaves: Burning Leaves - cbihateperfume is a better example than Black Tourmaline - I do love Black Tourmaline though
    Burnt Everything: Fumidus by Profumum
Burnt Cat Pee: Gold for Men by Amouage

Funny you should mention Fumidus. I just ordered a bottle a few hours ago after wanting it for a couple of years. I just couldn't think how to describe it. You're right - burnt everything!

Fvmidvs = burnt everything or uber smokey, quickly morphing into a healthy vetiver? I gave this a good wearing from a sample last week and was blown away. It is out there. Wish it was not so damn expensive.

I love the smell of smoke and burnt accords too. In fact, when I was at the CB I Hate Perfume store in Brooklyn (with Kevin Guyer) I spent about 10 minutes smelling all of his smoke accords (the entire series). I just kept smelling them and smelling them...I had to pull myself away, I was entranced. I wanted to buy them ALL. I came very close to buying Tobacco, but I decided to save my $ for buying stuff in Manhattan. Nonetheless all of them (Bonfire, Burnt Wood, Incense, Sweet Smoke and Smokehouse) intrigued me.

    Let's not forget:

Burning Barbershop and Smoked Amber by D.S. & Durga = Burnt lavender and burnt amber, respectively
Tea (Series 1: Leaves) by Comme des Garcons = Burnt tea leaves
Tribute by Amouage = Burnt tobacco, leather and frankincense
Leather Oud by Christian Dior = Burning oud chips
Japon Noir by Tom Ford = OMG everything is on fire

I think you'll enjoy Fumidus. It's overpowering upon first spraying. If your going to wear outside your house I recommend applying 30 minutes before departure.

There's a quite prominent burnt element to Borneo - maybe more charred. Charred sticks and a few leaves.

Black by Bulgari. Smells like burning tires or rubber.

Amber Sultan - Serge Lutens. Very very smokey.

I really enjoy The Beat by Burberry. Along with the citrus, violet & black pepper, it has a great smokey cedar type base that reminds me of a campfire or fireplace. Some don't like it because of the pepper, but it's one of my favorites.

    So true.

There is another CdG scent that shares this 'circuit board / electronics' accord, Play.

Thanks. I've gone through a couple of sample vials of it, so I'm pretty familiar with it. It is one intense fragrance. I can't wait until it gets here!

La Labo's Vetiver 46 could be more accurately named Chicago 1871 or Tunguska 1908. So I guess I am saying it might be one of the worst burnt stuff.

I was planning to respond to this thread with some burnt campfire (Eau des Iles), burnt log cabin (Arso), burnt toffee (aomassi) maybe even burnt garden (Tueberose Criminelle), but then I read this one ^!

    Descartes - brilliant imagery! but I wish I hadn't read this . .

yes it really is a bit disturbing!
