Default Best patchouli based, or single note fragrance?

I'm looking to sample some patchouli based fragrances. I'd like the patchouli to be dominating the entire length of the fragrance, though I don't mind if a few other scents are blended in there as well.

I'd like some opinions on what to start sampling.

    Thanks in advance!

Givenchy Gentlemen opens with leather and then is totally dominated by Patchouli and at the basenotes you get a little bit of muskyness kicking in. It is my favorite patchouli scent and well worth trying if you are looking into Patchouli scents.

Most of the time I am very proud of the Basenotes community. Time after time I have witnessed the thoughtfulness, empathy & genuine friendship that members of this community extend to others - oldtimers & newcomers alike. There are other times, however, when egos get the upper hand and civility goes out the window. My philosophy is that I won't say anything here that I would not say if you were standing in front of me. Welcome to Basenotes, each and every one of us. ~ TwoRoads

Molinard Patchouli is a very good, straightforward patch that's economical.

These are four really fantastic patchouli fragrances. They are all pretty pure to patchouli. Samples can be had from Luckyscent on all except Villoresi which is sampled from Perfumed Court.

Ulrich Lang Nightscape - cool, gentle and the easiest to wear. Not a single note patch but who cares when it's this good.
Lorenzo Villoresi Patchouli - cold, earthy, nicely blended patchouli that stays on the cold side throughout.
Serge Lutens Borneo 1834 - dark chocolate patchouli - very potent through the first hours but sublime after drydown.
Profumum Patchouly - pure but delicately blended brew of patchouli oils - potent and perfect.

    Default Patchouli prominent scents?

Need some suggestions on some Patchouli based scents. With a prominent patchouli note. Not exactly colognes that have some patchouli in it. I have a few of those and some of them the patchouli is undetectable. Anyone know any good scents.

nobody has mentioned 'giorgio' yet - spicy patchouli bomb. excellent masculine scent for a low price, very pronounced but still delicate, great on longevity and projection. for me one of the budget priced masterworks - check out if scented monkey is still selling these testers on e.bay. i think i got a 4oz for $17-18 including shipping with 'best offer' option.
    hope this helps.

Mapletop; You should probably do a search on this forum for patchouli - you will find hundreds of threads on patchouli and thousands of suggestions. A thread just went through a couple days ago on patchouli.

For warm weather patchouli you can not beat Ulrich Lang Nightscape.

For some very good and kind of pure patchouli you can not go wrong with: Profumum Patchouly, Borneo 1834, Mazzolari Patchouli, Villoresi Patchouli, Patchouli Patch, Micallef Patchouli.
